can a pedal harp fit easily into a Fit?

Philistines.
An irregular shape, about 72"x48"x20", the harp would be an awkward fit.
With the rear seats folded down you have a an area of 55x40x35. The front seat folded down would give you the extra 20" length you need for the narrow end but the thing wouldn't rest flat.

Well, I know a string bass will!
Since I've played the string bass for a lot of years, I've always car-shopped with the bass along to make sure of it fitting into the new car. Most interesting fit was in a Fiat 124 Spider, with the bass sitting on the passenger's seat, of course having the top down. The Bass fits fine in a Fit, and it is 73" by about 28", however the north end of the bass is a rather narrow neck, which fits between the front seatbacks and extends about a foot into the front passenger space. However, the bass, a bass guitar, amplifiers and assorted musical gig junk all fit in the Fit with room for the driver and two passengers. It's pretty amazing. By the way, I always grip my European String Bass by the husk, and by so doing, manage the weight ratios.

GUARD #1: What -- a swallow carrying a coconut?
ARTHUR: It could grip it by the husk!

The tapestry loom comment struck me as Pythonesque. The comparison them reminded me of the European swallow and the African swallow comparison.
Plus I have been known to be impaired while foruming.

lol it took me a long time to process what I was reading. I had no idea what anybody was talking about. I was like, "why are people on a Honda Fit forum talking about things from the Jane Austen era?"

Coherence is not a goal of mine. I do have goals, just not that one.
