Sub recommendation?

Sub recommendation?
I am looking at installing a sub box in the cargo area, and really don't know what sounds good and what would fit nicely. I would also mount the amp to the back of the sub box. I do not want to remove the spare.
What do you guys put in your cars? I would probably keep everything else stock, but just need something for the extra bass. Are the bazooka tubes any good?

The Bazooka brand tubes have been around a long time, they work well and are generally good quality if not audiophile grade.

^i think OP said he doesn't want to remove spare...and i don't like to click on links. haha.
I got a 8" bazooka and its perfect. lots of trunk space left (with what little we have). I replaced the original speaker w/ a re8 though. wish i had my old dd 1508 though.

lol. my bad. i feel like a doof.
sick setup.
u runnin' 1000 watts to that sub?
I had that sub in my old LS430 rear deck but only ran 400 watts to it...(ran it free-air/infinite baffle).

That sounds good to me. Is it "easy" to run the power line for this kind of setup, or best to let an installer do it? Lately, I have found it easier to just pay someone to do stuff like this....estimates?

Only thing to keep in mind is that this setup will take up some significant room. This is with my 'small' winter box (I go SQ in the Winter when I have to keep my windows up and SPL in the summer when I can roll 'em down). 2 cubic foot. sealed. In the spring I put in the monster 4.4 cube (+port volume) ported box I built. Fits in like a glove but you will not have a usable cargo area anymore. The CVRs are a very volume hungry sub.
Nothing can describe the devastation that the ported setup can cause. The body pannels on the vehicle across the street from you will be vibrating. The CVRs are seriously durable and will take some abuse too. Running the power cable is very easy. Through the firewall, under the console, under the carpet, past the bench, up into the cargo area. Cable managment gets to be a serious PIA if you also have your amp for your front speakers mounted to your sub box like in my setup. Getting subs without upgrading to component speakers is just assinine. You want to shake people's cars AND let them hear the lyrics. Rickrolling 3 city blocks is a joyous thing. Just don't do it often or in your hometown where people know you.

I forgot, don't waste your time with non CEA-2006 amps. I never realized the power of the speakers untill I replaced my '2000 watt peak 1000 watt rms' BOSS amp with a 1600 watt peak 900 watt rms kenwood amp. Class D makes a big difference too considering how few amps we have to work with. Stock alternator is 75amps but far less at idle.

my friend has 3 12" rockford L7's in his yukon. i thought my earswere going to bleed.
the subs you need just depend on the amount of bass you want. if you just want a little more than you have now so music sounds more full then a bazooka tube is more than sufficient. i had 2 rockford L7's in my integra when i had it with 1000 watts to each speaker and you could hear the shit from like 2 miles away.. im over that stage now lol

The kicker l7 is in a whole 'nother category. Probably wouldn't have a back window. Although, how you would get enough amp for it is beyond me in the FIT.

I hear yah...that is what I want. I don't want to draw attention, too old for that...just want more bass, don't want to loose all the room in the cargo area, AND want an easy install, oh yah, AND don't want to change out the stock speakers.

Thanks for the recommend...I will check into it. From what I have seen, that may be the way to go...

Hooked up!
Ok, so went to my local Car audio shop and talked it over with the owner...
here is what he hooked me up with:
Rockford Fosgate Punch P3L-12 inch enclosed box.
Rockford Fosgate T-400-2 400w(when in single) amp
Rockford Fosgate Punch PEQ Equalization Remote
I was very skeptical about the output from one speaker, even though it was a 12". The P3L-12 is a thin box, and fits great in the fit, without sacrificing too much room. The installer placed the amp under the driver seat - seemed like a good place and it fit, but you can see a little bit of it from the back seat.
I was waiting for the install and the audio shop was working on my fit and another SUV. I heard a really loud stereo and figured that it was the SUV...the bass was really loud coming from the installation bay. I went to check it out and it was my fit! Holy Cow! After tweaking the amp a bit, my fit sounds great! Huge amount of bass if I need/want it and with the Eq remote, I can turn it up or down easily.
Don't let the single speaker fool you. This thing can pound! You loose very little space in the hatch area, which was a major concern of mine. I used some bungee cords that I had to keep the speaker up against the back of the back seats so that the speaker doesn't fall over when accelerating. No one will look in there except me anyway.
Very happy with the choice!
