Will my Fit be totaled?

I can understand where you are coming from though. I normally wouldn't advocate getting a lawyer but in SoCal and I'm sure other densely populated locations accidents are a highly frequent/common occurrence, hence my horrible experiences. I just believe that through my experiences people should try to take an active approach. So in this case, if you don't believe the value of your settlement is accurate you should seek legal counsel. I guess that would have been more appropriate.

Speaking of southern California, the 15 years I worked for USAA I was in San Diego. We handled the south half of California which would include Los Angeles. I don't know about today but 20 years ago L.A. was famous (in the insurance industry) for being the area generating the most fraudulant claims.

Damn, that sucks. Almost certainly will be totaled. If you would have had an Allstate policy and paid the extra for New Car Extended Coverage you would have had:
New Car Replacement If your new car gets totaled within the first three model years, you can get a new car not just the depreciated value.
It might have been a tough one if the other party was deemed at fault, but you probably would have walked away with another fit with aprox. the same miles. You would have had the Gold/Platinum package too so your rates wouldn't go up either even if you were deemed at fault. However, California is a pretty crooked state when it comes to insurance so who knows what really would happen.

Hi Guys,
Wednesday I was in a freeway accident with my fit. I was rear ended from behind by a much heaver SUV at about 60 MPH. This caused my car to spin uncontrollably and strike the median several times while being struck by another vehicle.
You'll be pleased to know that the car's cabin remained intact and un-squished keeping my family safe. Everyone else involved in the accident is ok too.
Because of the holiday weekend I have to wait till Monday to hear about my car. Here are some photos.
Does any one else have experience with this? Will my car be totaled?

Flamesuit on
Before you get flamed for hi-jacking the thread, I'd like to say hello and welcome! I'm in Chicago and I'm new too, joined in Sep. '08, but a new '09 Fit owner since Sep. '09. You'll find a wealth of information in this forum if you take the time to look deep enough. I'm sure there is another thread somewhere else in the forum where people can just say hello.
