Now this looks very interesting to me... Looks like it might just fit over the Fit's parking brake, and w/o interdering much with the storage options there?

Enter "armrest" in the word key at this site, and take a look at the black/gray armrest storage console on adjustable legs!

Nah, won't get it! Sheeesh!

On second consideration, it looks as if this JCW armrest won't work on a GE Fit.
It's metal legs would interfere with the seat sides and the underneath tracks
used for the forward/backwards seat adjustments, and might even cause some damage!
RATS!!

Oh well, it's back to the log-pillow-on-toppa-brake-lever concept.
Not too elegant a solution, but certainly flexible, portable, and prolly very comfortable too!

Will explore further...
Targets home furnishings, here I come......

No waaay!
Because:

#1} Waaay too much $$$ to buy it,
and then waaay too much $$$ to have it installed!

#2} And also waaay too complicated for DIY, for me!
(I work that hard, I wanna draw a salary for it!)

I checked it out and read the reviews and came to the conclusion that it could work well if one was to spend some time adding a metal hinge and some reinforcement..... Some double stick foam mounting pads from an auto parts store would be good to help secure it to the stock console and some stick on velcro to help out the magnetic lid latch....Some aluminum angle from a hadware store or Home Depot could be used to reinforce the plastic from the inside.

looks promising enough, and the price is unbeatable.
If all you have to do is some reinforcement (it is required based on the review) and the estimated cost is still lower than the other armrest, then it's a pretty sweet deal.
I personally don't like the storage space though, I rather have an open space then all those slots telling me where to put stuff.
