Impossible to find 2009/10 Tafetta White Sport MT?
Only one dealership in Northern California was listed as having one. Have been waiting for over 3 months now.
Any reasons to expect them coming back after new year?

I just walked away from one here in central Virginia (Rule Honda, Staunton VA). I get them impression it's been on the lot for a while and they can't seem to move it. Why not buy a one-way ticket out here and drive it home? I had them down to about 16,700 + TT&L before deciding to go with another dealer.

Good luck man...I bought mine in August with a build date in July as well. wouldn't trade it for any other color. It's so secksy!
It was such a fluke that I even got it...
Had been emailing a dealer, finding out what they had, lowest price they'd go, etc.
They had a Orange Revolution 5 speed they were willing to let go for cheap...I thought about it, but just couldn't justify the orange.
I told him thanks, but no thanks. And kept on looking, thought that'd be the end.
Well, he emailed me about a week later on a Friday night saying that he had a white one that had just come in, and to let him know.
I called him up on Saturday morning (thinking he was pulling my chain)...he said he did have one, he'd give it to me for the same price he'd quoted me on the orange. I was all about it, but still a little leary. Told him that I was going to come up there (it was a 1.5 hour drive) and made sure again that he was being honest.
When I arrived, the dealership was packed (C4C) but I saw my baby, nestled in the back looking gorgeous!
Took her for a test drive, worked some numbers, financing, etc...drove off with her!! Haven't regretted anything about the deal at all!
So...if it's meant to be, it'll come to you. Good things come to those who wait...and... ummm 6 of one, half a dozen of the other (LOL, had to!)
Good Luck!

I like all of the colors for the Fit. I didn't particularly want a white car but it was the only one with nav and manual transmission in the entire state at the time I bought it. The blackberry pearl is my favorite color. All you see is white, silver, and black cars everywhere, it's kind of boring.
I think instead of holding out for one particular color you should have a few colors you would be willing to take and I think it will make finding a manual transmission easier. Manual transmissions are already hard to find and then you want to make it worse by asking for a specific color? You might be waiting for a long time.

I said this in my intro thread, but i also wanted a TW fit in 5 spd. Wasn't happening.
honda of pasadena by far had the most allocated fits (besides norm reeves) partially because of them winning the president's award 2 years running...and they had 13 new ones on the lot, and 3 used GD's. 1 used TW, but automatic. and all the new TW GE's were automatic..except 1 super base model TW 5 spd...which i wasn't gonna settle with.
So i picked the only 5 spd CBP sport non-navi, and the only one with no added market value adjustment. it even came with those stupid upgrades like lug locks, rear pplique and cargo tray free of charge because the manager "forgot". With the fits, you really can't pick and choose every little thing you want. now i LOVE my CBP fit, despite having wanted TW initially.

You're right, though, if you are looking for a manual, you'd best not be quite so fussy about the color, and just find a color you can live with.

i beg to differ. don't settle for what you can live with, get the color that you love.

i guess a lot of us bought taffy white sport manuals in august. add me to that list. there were only 2 dealerships that had that configuration in nor*cal when i was looking around. i dealt w/ el cerrito since oakland was feeding me a few lines and they were being a bit pushy.

agreed. if you're going to keep the car for a while, don't settle for something you'll hate or kinda like.

Good luck finding a sport TW 5MT 09' or 10' any time soon. I was desperately looking for one for 2 months (sept-oct) in the socal area and gave up and got a 10' AT sport TW.
There was a sport TW 5MT in september but someone had just bought it the night before I went into the dealer. I heard from dealers all around the socal area that the fits that they are ordering or are receiving are mostly or all autos for the 10'.
if you really really want one you can order one now and wait about a month and a half to 2 months for delivery.
p.s. im kinda glad i got the AT fit. the last time i drove a manual was 6 years ago when i had my m3 and i remembered how much of a bitch it was in highway traffic. when not in traffic manual is so much more fun though...

i just got my MT 2010 Fit sport this same month. early Nov. and I actually had to put a deposite and reserve the one they had coming in.
It took over a month of me waiting. but i finally got it. They had none to start as well and they had a shippment list of the next batch of fits they had coming in.

me finding my fit was dumb luck. i told a dealer what i was looking for, the next day one appeared on his lot, a few days later i bought it.

Exactly my story
This is also my very first post, and I also scored a TW Sport M/T (here in Minnesota). I have the fog lights, door sills, all-season mats and cargo cover so far. This is one hell of a car for the money. Athletic skills of a miata, cargo capacity of a small sport-ute, low cost of ownership and just plain fun to drive.

i went to like 2 dealerships and they acted like color doesnt matter.. and iam like "WTF.. if iam keeping this car for a while, it needs to be the color of my choice" so i went to a completely different dealership and reserved the color fit i wanted coming in the shipment list.
1 month without a car was kinda tough... but it was well wroth the wait

Anyway, there is no such thing as a bad color for the Fit, they are all nice. Sure, everyone has their preferred color, but sometimes if you're looking for a car with a special trim level, which the Fit with navigation is, then you need to be a little more flexible on the color choice. My first color choice was blackberry pearl and I ended up with white because there was no car with that color and manual trans/navi within a 1,000 mile square radius. So, I took what I could get. If I had been super picky about color I would probably be sitting here typing this up without Fit in my parking lot.
Like I said, all the colors for the Fit are nice. It's not like you can get stuck with some puke green or bright gold color. Honda should be commended for offering such a nice palate of colors. The OP needs to decide what's more important, being super picky and waiting God knows how long, or getting another color with the options he is looking for now. I mean honestly the exterior color is nice and all, but where do you spend all your time, right, sitting INSIDE the car and driving it. And guess what, we all have black interiors no matter what color we get.
