questions about the paddle shifters!

questions about the paddle shifters!

I just get my fit!but i still confused about the S mode!when is the good time to shift?in which rmp?and need loose the foot on the gas pandel while shift gear?please reply me as soon as possible!

You can leave your foot on the gas while you shift. You should shift right before the engine hits the rev limiter. Just play around with it. The Fit will not let you over rev or stall the engine (after reading this thread I see why ).

Shift with paddles when you want, don't have to wait til the rev limit. And BTW the Fit can be over-reved. Including the time-honored shifting into second from 6000 rpm in 4th. just because the spark quits doesn't mean the mechanicals stop rotating.

Lol I was pulling his leg about shifting at redline and I only meant the a/t fit sport that he has. The paddle shifters on the a/t will not allow you to over-rev. If downshifting would put you over or too near redline, then the tranny will not shift. It just flashes the number of the gear you want to shift to and will not shift. For example you cannot downshift to 2nd gear over ~56 mph or 3rd gear over ~76 mph. The a/t will not allow you to stall either In sport mode because if revs drop too low the computer will step in and downshift for you. of course it's not the same with the m/t.
