How long have you gone with no dents?

Its been 4 months that ive had my 09 silver MT. Im terribly paranoid about my first dent or nick. I park away from other cars whenever possible. I have even taken pictures of the plates of cars parked next to me, so I could identify the car that made my first ding.

Any other people scared to get the first dent?

My neighbor told me some interesting info about dents. He said most people dont know this but your insurance company will pay once to get dents popped out. He said usually after about 3 years, if you ask them, they will do this FREE to you. Is this true? The guy works for the IRS so he could be mistaken

Good since the beginning of August (09).

On a related note, because I posted the above, today will be the day I'll get a dent.

Didn't even make it one month.

Had a friend stop by my house and for some reason, he decided he needed to pull his crew cab w/ an 8' bed truck into the driveway, inspite of the fact there was already two cars in it, and about 10' of space left to the street.

He also forgot that he had his winch attached on the front bumper, which was fortunately just low enough that it hit my Fits bumper, and dented the plastic in, and tore through the plastic where the rear bumper applique was. Had his hitch been higher, it probably would have punched through the hatch.

He paid to fix it.

Then someone put a tiny cart dent in the hatch door two days after that was fixed

F'ng people

Sooner or later it happens to every car. That's what they call "Carma". That's why I never fixed the dent in the front Fender of the Harley. I figure if I did, the next week I'd wreck the bike.

Just looking at this thread means I'll probably get my first dent in the Fit today.

two months: semi rear ended the pickup behind me that walloped my rear hard enough to make things fly. My bumper is slightly bruised (if I squint reeeeeal hard with the right sunlight I can see a bit of shading difference) but otherwise nothing happened. Not enough to file a claim.

I had mine for 6 weeks and drove over a rock in the dark in low gear on a dirt road (more like a dry creek bed than a road). The car settled enough to catch the rock on the side skirt and buckle the right front fender. The new fender and side skirt (and paint) cost me $1200.

My wife's Fit lasted for 3 months before some kid threw a big rock that left a very noticeable dent and a deep scratch on the roof! We never caught the kid... :-(

We decided not to fix it under insurance, but use multiple layers or touch up paint...

It doesn't matter what kind of car it is. A dent is a dent and a scratch is a scratch. Sure if you owned a Lambo and there was a scratch you could easily get it repaired considering you can even afford such a car.

It's the same concept as owning a Fit.

No one wants a scratch and nobody wants to pay to get it fixed and/or deal with the hassle.

I've been driving since July 23rd, 09 with only one incident. It was the first day back for fall classes, and I thought I parked far enough away from the door. The silver ding on my driver's door tells otherwise. After a little touch-up paint, I can barely see where I got hit. Since then I've been paranoid about being hit again. I'll have to take a picture of where I park at school and post it when I get home. (at campus now)
