Spare Tire Question
Hi, I am a potential Fit owner, looking at a 09 Fit Sport.
I've been trying to find out what the deal with the spare tire is. I've seen reviews that says Honda did away with the spare tire to make more room for the "magic seats", but i've also read elsewhere that there is a spare tire included...so my question is... for US owners....
Is there a spare tire there or not?!?
- Thanks.

Fuel economy.
It doesn't make much sense to me. There are some very remote areas in Canada with some rough roads that could rip a tire to shreds. Not a good place to be without a spare especially with our harsh winters. Some areas don't even have cell service.

All US Fits come with a compact Spare tire... Auto, Manual, Sport, Navi, Base,... All have a spare.

In Canada to qualify for some government fuel savings rebate, the car has to hit a certain mpg target. Honda learned with the auto, because of the extra weight the car would not qualify, where the MT would. So to have the auto version get in under the wire, they get rid of the spare and jack and instead the autos get the spare repair kit. The spare tire/jack is then an option on the auto, so you get the rebate, but you'll spend it to but the spare tire/jack, if you so choose.

If you have TPMS then you cannot spray that canned crap into the tire... it will damage the TPMS sensors. Honda can get away with not providing a spare for Canadians. Again, they don't get the TPMS... but they do get the can'o'crap and I think an air pump, plus a nifty little styrofoam tray with a bunch of little compartments where the spare would normally be located.
Yes... we U.S.-ers still get spares!

In Canada, it's not based on which model (DX, DX-A, LX or Sport) it's based on the transmission choice. Automatic doesn't get the spare. Manuals do.

Also, I saw this vid. (watch to the end of it):

Cool tray!
Anyway, I was close, sorta'!
Thanks for the correction.
