after 1 full year driving the fit i can report...

no cracked windshield.
no broken fog light.
no peeling paint.
no broken AC condenser.
no bubbles in any tires.
no water leaks on the floor.

13,200 miles driven.

i do have the occasional glove box rattle, but it wouldn't be a fit without it.

no cracked windshield- Luck
no broken fog light- Luck
no peeling paint- Not surprised
no broken AC condenser- Luck
no bubbles in any tires- Not surprised
no water leaks on the floor- Not surprised

All of these are a lot more rare than you'd believe reading the forum, imo. Still, I did do the AC mesh mod. Fog light protection wouldn't hurt either.

I must not have a Fit, cause mine doesn't rattle...yet!

Very glad it's been all good for you. May it continue for the life of your Fit!

thanks. i just mentioned those things because obviously they are significant fears based on owners experiences. i just wonder what the actual percentages are regarding the common complaints.

my glove box didnt rattle for the first 6 months.
i do consider the ac condenser and windshield a sitting duck.

For the AC condensor you can be proactive and reduce the chances significantly. The windshield is luck, with a dash of common sense while driving. But those damn rocks will get everyone along the way. It all depends whether or not it will crack. Fingers crossed all rocks miss you- and all of us!

You can avoid following trucks closely, and watch out for traffic, but you can't do much about trucks coming the other way. My Harley still has a small dent in the front fender from a stone that fell off a truck going the opposite way. I'd fix it but over time I've come to regard it as God's way of telling me not to be so damn fussy.

>no peeling paint- Does wax help this?

no. it's a manufacturing defect.

>no bubbles in any tires- keep properly inflated?

that will help, but avoiding potholes would be the first choice.

Curbs too. I can't believe how much some people mistreat their tires.

10150 MILES ON MY SPORT 1 YEAR OLD THIS WEEK.
10666 MILES ON WIFE'S BASE AT TODAY'S HALLOWEEN DMV INSPECTION!

The wife's brakes feel better than mine. I must have glazed mine over.
The wife's base is actually a little peppier than mine. Must be the extra Sport parts and big giant sheets of glass on my roof.
I'm getting a few MPG's more than she is. I'm on the highway more.
People look at my orange car all the time. The tidewater blue goes incognito.
I HAVE YET TO LISTEN TO A CD IN MY CAR. It's either the iPod of thumb drive connected to the usb port.
One oil change each since new, both now at 40%.
Sport front tires showing edge wear... need to rotate.
I promised myself my car would stay clutter free. Didn't happen. Wife's either.
