I'm still trying to figure out what they're saying about the Insight. It's more dependable than the Fit? I wonder why.

yeah the whole article is flaky. I think they're trying to say Ford builds dependable cars even though they don't work very well.

No they don't say that the insight is more reliable. In fact, they say that they don't recommend it.

The Fit gets their highest recommendation.

Spotlighted cars such as the Insight doesn't mean they won anything. They just wanted to comment on it. It's a misleading way to form a ratings review.

No, I think what they were saying was the Insight topped the reliability chart in its class, BUT, CR doesn't recommend it due to other factors (performance). Same for the Toyota Yaris. The highest ranked car in this class which CR DOES rcommend is the Fit.

This is a misleading and confusing article.

Right, but how do they define "dependability"? Is it the same as reliability? How can they have enough data on the Insight which came out in April and they had to get this story done a month or 2 ago latest?

Maybe it is just me but I always feel that unless it is a Cadilac, Consumers Reports is not really interesested. They have said good things about the Fit but I never feel like I should take their reviews as a final word on anything.

?

you must not read consumer reports very often then. they rate most american cars as not so great, including cadillacs.

they have no interest in a cars 'snob' factor. if it sucks from a reliability standpoint, they show it.

Eldaino and Cab0053 are probably right. CR might be totally fair. I just lucked out saw some reviews, mostly non-automotive, that I had conflicting experiences with. If they good stuff on the Fit I will agree 100%.
