Fit Leaves Civilization (sort of)

Did an ecology study for a biology class in Lagoon Valley Park in Vacaville. Had no idea it existed. Very beautiful.

Unfortunately people feed these geese and they're very docile towards humans...which is how I got so close to them.

Wild mustard!!! If you're lost in the wilderness, you can eat the buds of these. It's where cauliflower and broccoli comes from (supermarket broccoli comes from domesticated versions). The buds really do taste like broccoli!!

yes to both questions

my bio professor is a stereotypical ecologist. I think he smokes pot. He just looks like it.

Ahahaha! I too am a bio major and fellow fit driver. I do research in an ecology lab but my advisors are no where near that cool. I didn't even know that ecologist were potheads!

he went to Humbolt state...party school. I'm actually a bio chem major minoring in english (im crazy). One of the reasons I chose the fit was my ability to sleep in it during finals and midterms (lol my record was a whole week...I commute. I do bring deoderant and brush my teeth though).

I don't know about the pot head part, but he has a solar cooker in his backyard that he uses all the time except in winter. He wears dad jeans with his plaid button shirts (which is all he wears) tucked in. He drives a Corrola. And he has the corniest jokes. Right now we're on Fungi and this was his joke seriously.

There was a squirrel walking in the forest when he spotted a mushroom crying on a tree stump.

Squirrel: Awww why are you crying mushroom.
Mushroom: 'sob' Nobody will play with me.
Squirrel: Why's that? I don't see why anybody wouldn't.
Mushroom: I don't either...I am a funGI.

He's super awsome though. He brings his TARD (Test Anxiety Reduction Dog) to class when we have tests.

Wow, that IS a corny joke hahaha. My personal favorite is the pickup line: If I were an enzyme I'd be helicase so I could unwrap your genes. Good luck with bio chem, I had to take a quarter of that and it was such a beezy memorizing all those pathways with their respective enzymes and chemical structures. Interesting stuff though, good luck with that!
