Finally test drove a fit today
I was in miami today taking the asvab and decided to stop by largo honda on my way home. Test drove an 09 fit sport.. Unfortunately it was auto but now I'm set on getting a fit for sure.. I'll be waiting for the 10s to come out so I can get manual.

Word of advice...I've driven both AT and MT Fits, both 1st and 2nd gen. I'm an MT guy, but after driving the 1st gen MT Fit, I gave the AT much thought. When I drove both versions of the 09, the MT is the way to go by a huge margin. It has much more character. It's faster, and the well-matched shorter gearing makes it much more fun. As fun as the AT is, the MT is well worth the wait.

I really want to know when every car manufacturer is going to realize it's F***'n insane to pay several thousand dollars in up charges for a GPS/Navi when you can go to best buy and get one for $100. Also of note is that I'm not willing to do that when i have google maps on my blackberry. That ish is free.

Actually, they're improved from last-gen's all-plastic paddles. Not only do I think the paddles work well, but last gen's shift response was one of the first few cars that actually shifted quickly and smoothly. IOW, Honda got it bang-on right. Personally, if I were to have the AT, I would only use it to downshift while passing on the highway or going uphill. It's a fad and it's a gimmick, but at least it gives you the option of not using them at all.
