Finally test drove a fit today

It was fantastic.. I'm just really glad that I actually thought it through before just jumping into it.. I have a tendency to be pretty impulsive.
Now I'm just waiting til after bootcamp and I get my first station.. Then I'll buy it!

Try the manual before you buy it. I love how the car is alot more responsive and peppier with the manual, but the clutch pedal offers no feedback. You get the hang of it after a few thousand miles, but it was weird engaging the clutch and not getting anything back through the pedal.
Maybe they're all like that. I've driven only two manuals before, and both were cruisers...

I wanted to make absolutely sure that I wasn't making a mistake. A few of my cars were NOT well thought out.
Doing the kind of planning you are, you'll be able to put a huge down payment on the vehicle, and have tiny payments, which is GREAT. And the car should LAST for a long time!

When in the service, one way of making sure that your payments are always made on time is by having an allotment made. What that means is, by the time you get your check, all of your creditors have already been paid. You stuff is always paid and your credit becomes real good because of it.
The downfall is, EVERY town that hosts a naval base, marine barracks or whatever THRIVES on the military. The downfall is that they KNOW they will get their money so they jack up the prices and interest rates and MOST young guys and gals don't look into these things as they only look at the bottom line of how much they will be paying.
I still keep the paperwork to prove how dumb I was when I was 17 and just enlisted in the Navy. I bought a motorcycle for ~$4,500 (which was do-able) but I never read the fine print that I was going to be paying 30.08% in interest!!!!
So my advise to you would be to buy your new Fit far away from wherever you may be stationed. You will definitely be treated better..............or at least more honestly.
