Ok... about the Fit's "Slowness"
#321
Yeah, the Fit is slow. But you can see what I drive every day.
Honestly, I like driving my Dad's fit. It's comfy, I can see plenty out of it, it lopes along the highway fine, and I can carry loads of shit. The ONLY thing I would change is dynamatting the piss out of the firewall so he doesn't have to hear the buzzsaw sound of a liter and a half of Honda fury when he goes to merge on the highway.
And maybe wheels and springs, just because I hate that feeling of the sidewall folding over.

There are some noise suppression plugs the dealer typically leaves out. The exhaust runs by the structural member these go in and they reduce a lot of the noise. Check this thread and have a look underneath.

I don't think the fit is fast but i do notice a really bad lag when i floor it from a stop. I've tried everything and the fit just likes to be like "o wait, your flooring it, uh ok hold on let me tell vtec to kick in." Anyone know how to get the car to not lag. throttle control system?
#325
Do you have MT or AT? Mine doesn't really lag at all, unless the TC happens to be in eco mode (which it never is really). In SP7 the car really wants to jump out of its own way, but still would never even be considered quick, at least by me. It is just a fun car to drive winding roads with.

Throttle controller (Blitz or 3 Drive -- 3 Drive has a special on fitfreak.net);
Super Unleaded or 93+ octane fuel (allows the computer to keep normal spark advance at lower RPM).

The octane boost will do nothing except empy out your wallet. This has been discussed before many times. The fit is designed to run at it's max timing with regular so the engine can only retard the timing. The car can't advance past max.

Just do like Scratch&Dent says and see for yourself if there isn't an improvement in performance..... Honda warns not to use fuel with octane less than 87.... Everyone that has used a Scan Gauge to see what occurs using premium fuel has reported more timing advance with it and also a noticeable increase in torque at lower RPM.... My car has a super charger and will run on 91 octane without any problems but it has more power with 93 with some octane booster added to it.... Of course you can save money at the pump by using the minimum recommended fuel if you'd like.

Be sure and check out the throttle controller because it is a lot of fun and makes a big difference in low end response and also in fuel mileage on the economy setting.... Octane booster really isn't necessary and neither is premium fuel but many people that have checked the timing advance using premium saw more advance of ignition timing on their Scan Gauges and were able to feel a difference in pulling power at low RPM. The use of premium fuel seems to be an issue that pisses some people off for some reason but numerous people have had positive results using it.

Does anyone know if a high-stall torque converter has been released for our transmission? AT users would see a good benefit from one and may even be able to break traction from a stand still.
