Engine Bore

So I want more power... as many of us do.

I want to know two things; what is the bore on a 1.5L Fit, and how much would it cost to bore it out to a 2.0 or 2.5? (If that is possible)

I have seen this done many times but is it worth it, or should I just drop an Acura Integra engine in that bad boy? (My friend has one lying around)

the walls are too thin to bore the fit motor out to 2.0. gd3kamiwanaB has his fit bored out to 1.6 and im not sure if he can jump up to the next size but 2 liters is out of the question.

the b series motors have the intake manifold on the opposite side of the motor so it will be hard dropping it into the fit chassis but someone in the philippines did it so its possible.

if you want a bigger motor i suggest go with a k series since hasport makes the swap rather simple. look up jpax for a nice gd3 with a k20z3

anyone can go buy a factory k20 machine but to build one in a car no one expects it to be in is golden.

ge8 or gd3= everyone thinks its a hybrid

k20 ge8 or gd3= everyone thinks its a hybrid until you leave them behind and they reconsider.

Exactly. 1st of all, buying a different car, isn't really an option as I can't even have it in my name yet :X Secondly, there is something more to be said for building an engine than simply s[ending the money for a car with a stock 2.0L and DOHC.

I am wondering if anyone knows how much this little venture would run me?

@fmcfad01 - I already said that isn't an option.

EDIT: Thanks, Kyler. I will look into that.

"Secondly, there is something more to be said for building an engine than simply s[ending the money for a car with a stock 2.0L and DOHC"

What is to be said is the person will end up spending more money than it is worth to have a vehicle that will never be able to live up to their expectations.

The venture will probably run you between $1000 and $15000 depending on if your a mechanic, tools, resources, and time you can devote. After it is done it will torque steer badly, and have an awful transmission (assuming stock equipment).

If another car is out of the option you could always use the fit for the only thing it is great at. MPG! If you can refrain from money pitting a fit, and go to college, you will be able to drive anything you want.

Hell yeah! The damned new car/modification itch destroys many men who would have otherwise succeeded in life. If only they could have deffered until after college and escaping debt. If you want to modify cars at an early age make it a career. Just remember most people that work tuning sports cars can not afford a lot of the vehicles they work on.

P.S. I love the sex toy looking M-Coupe. It's a true badass at autocross.

I don't get why people buy a Fit and then want a bomb. It's an economy car and a great one as it is.

There are plenty of other cars better suited for what you want, even used cars.

because people have already tuned other cars.

for the guys who love to tune/modify their car its doing things that no one else has done that brings the real joy to our lifes.

im sure somewhere there is some guy with a list of parts that he is going to put on his new honda insight even though it is the ultimate economy car.

yes you can install it. it has been done in the philippines but it is putting old technology in a new car.

to swap motors will cost around 2000 not including the price of the motor. a B series will cost a little less than a k.

Technically, I'm sure you could drop a B series in there but to be honest, the K series would probably drop in much easier. Any savings from the B Series engine will probably be evened out by the amount of additional work needed to drop it in vs. a K series.
