Saw my best MPG so far.

43.8 according to the MPG-o-meter. I had just filled up and headed form Riverside to SD drove 70-80mph the whole way. Overall for the tank driving there and back and up and down my mountain a couple times i got 35.5. My best overall as well. Just thought id share.

Took the pic right as i exited on Friars for those of you that know the Mission Valley area.

Way to go man...even accounting for the gauge inaccuracies, that should still be close to 40mpg! Good job!

yup that sounds about right, my "average" over 1500 miles has been 43.6, but the actual has been 36 even.

That’s odd to say the least. The Fit is capable of much better. Slow down, drive like the accelerator is an eggshell, coast more, etc. You should see the gage go to 80 mpg basically every time you let go the accelerator.

I also found that when I inflated my tires to 38-39 PSI I found a large increase in MPG. I may go higher and see how that does.

With such a light car, the higher PSI will most likely just give you bad wear patterns in your tires and shorten their life. I would say the benefit in mileage over the total cost of new tires probably isnt worth it.

I have mine at 38. The dealer had them at 32 but the max pressure on the tires is 45 so I thought 38 was okay. The car rides fine. I've driven with overinflated tires when I forgot to check the pressure back from being serviced. The car is all over the road. This car rides okay at 38.
