Eibach Sportlines Install = FAIL *Pics Uploaded*

this is the first time i EVER installed suspension on my own.

took me a good 7 hours with regular to tools...

however...on my last spring (front driver side)....my axle popped out

took it to a friend's shop. should be repaired by tomorrow

pictures will be up....hopefully.

just got the car back from my friend's shop. somehow i managed to damage the sealant when i was trying to jam the axle back in.

but we bought the part from honda and was able to put the axle back on

pictures will be up tomorrow....its on the gf's camera

all i have to say is i love the drop.....even after all the tough labor, it was all worth it in the end.

dont feel bad man, it happened to me too a few times. once i had to cut the boot open so i could see where the dog bones lined up and repack it with grease and get a new boot.

Which is another reason why Im really weary of slamming my fit. Scaping the front bumper/side skirts + possibilty of axle fiasco + the pain in the arse location to even locate the front strut assembly.

Honda really made suspension tuning a pain on this one.

^^^^ on the second post, there's a diy link for lowering the ge8

and yes....keep the axle on the jack to prevent it from slipping out

Not really, My Fit was one of the easiest cars that I have lowered and I have lowered quite a few. Maybe expirience makes it easier, but still not too bad. You have to be careful with front wheel drives in general due to the axles. Same thing with IRS rear wheel drives.

So far Ive lowered a 92 MR2, 86 Corolla, 92 Miata, 06 Evo, 03 MR2, 95 240, 91 240, and this car looks more of a pain.

Stalonehog- don't worry. We all start somewhere.

I recommend that your friend check your torque on the fasteners you touched to ensure a safe vehicle.

i've lowered a number of vehicles as well... the only real thing that bugged me about the front suspension wasnt keeping the axle from popping out... (only thing you have to do is keep it jacked, as said before.. simple) but what bothered me and gave me the most annoyance, was taking apart the plastic pieces covering the top of the strut...

Yah, we need to remove the wipers too just get to the struts or something right?

Never had that happen to me yet... On the GD no need to do that. My GE is stock and don't plan on modding it so...

yeah... lucky GD guys...

although once you do it once.. its pretty easy to go through it again faster... the first time i did it it took me about an hour just to figure it out... i decided to change my springs/rates so i had a 2nd try at it.. took me 15 min

The only way to explain on how to avoid popping out those axles is being really careful. You would think that Honda would remedy this, but of course they want their mechanics to be working on the cars not us, lol.
