Instrument panel scratches

Same problem on brand new 2013 Fit. Also was scratched up during dealer prep.
I think I'll attempt to do the replacement myself. I don't want them scratching or gouging my dash/ steering wheel, or breaking plastic dash clips. Nor do I want them to put finger prints, dust or debre behind the clear plastic. Even worse, they clean it after/during installing, making scratches on your newly installed clear plastic!
Had garnish sash replaced on drivers side. Technician scratched the inside door paint with screw driver all the way to metal (must of slipped) and also put a long scratch on rear plastic seat buckle (must of threw down tools in back seat) They also left greasy fingerprints all over the windows, garnish sash, and the outside paint on doors. (I thought they wore latex or nitrile gloves?)
Plastix doesn't work. I makes it worse. Pledge hides the scratches 80% but attracks 100% more dust. Answer is to replace it and clean using can air.
Yeah, I am OCD

I've used plastix 3 times succesfully. Even on some deep deep scratches. It's all about technique. You start off with alot of pressure to get the deep scratches out and then slowly use less and less pressure until by then end you are practically just pushing the cloth over the lense. If it didn't take you 10 minutes, you didn't do it right. If you don't spend alot of time jsut lightly moving the cloth around at the end you will have plenty of swirlies all over the plastic. I'd also say it is very difficult to do correctly with out taking the garnish off.

I was popping mine out to polish off some of the newer scratches--- and Doh! cracked it! So it looks like I'm in the market for a new one. From the Honda E Store its $24.00, Bernardi has it for $13.00 but with shipping comes to $28.00, so will go local (this time).

Here is the link for removal of trim:
Scratched gauge cluster - Page 4 - Unofficial Honda FIT Forums
Anyhow, I ordered two part# 78156-TF0-J11 from the dealership and they both come with light "micro scratches" already on them (held up in sun light). I guess its just bad quality control or how the clear plastic piece is made.
At least with one of the replacements, it isn't as bad as before, with the deeper scratches made from dealer prep.
