Is there anyway to pause a song/podcast with the head unit besides switching to the radio? Non-navi usb

Thanks in advance!

I usually just hit the power button, and it'll resume where I left off when I turn it back on.

Changing to the radio or CD seems to work for me.

Dude, my IPOD Mini (Pre Nano) won't work with the USB at all... SUCKS! I don't want to have to buy a new Ipod just for this... I'll just have to use the AUX port if others are having trouble with the USB anyway...
Anybody else getting the Unsupported error message?

Me too--I have an iPod Mini, and I get the same message. The owner's manual has a list of which iPod models are compatible--if it's not on the list, it won't work thru the USB.

Here's the list of what will work, from my owner's manual:
iPod 5G
iPod classic
iPod nano (1st, 2nd, 3rd gen)
iPod touch
iPhone

I suspect that there are newer generations out there for some of these models--I know it's true for the nano. Does anyone out there have info on the newest generations of these iPods?

I combed the manual for that on the first day, there is NO pause function! Kills me, and may be the thing that causes me to rip the stereo out and put my Alpine into it. Grrrrrrrr!

The power button works exactly the same as a pause button!!! Why not use it?

I know, it just annoys me to shut off the whole system when I need a few seconds of quiet. I've never seen a system that didn't have a pause!

If Honda put a pause symbol on the On/Off button, no one would have complained about lack of a pause button.

I hooked my iPhone 3G up the other day and it played great, though I'm pretty sure you lose your phone capabilities while playing music.

I don't know why anyone would want to use clumsy headunit controls with an iPod. The whole point (or reason they got popular) is the built-in iPod controls are far superior to anything else. Just hold that ish up in your line of sight while browsing it, so you still have peripheral vision.

One hand on the wheel

One hand on the shifter

One hand fumbling for the iPod

See the problem now?
