if you took the improvements in a GE8 and put that into a GD3 the GD3 would be the perfect fit (no pun intended). the GE8 defiantly has more of the american driver in mind compared to the totally global GD3. the only thing really missing from a GE8 is refresh mode, i used the hell out of that in my GD3 when I was at a race or drive in.

I would imagine that accommodating the dimensions of the typical North American driver was also one reason why the GDs took so long to get to the US (massive 5-year gap). The GE8s are definitely a better fit (yes pun intended) for North America.
I think you meant "definitely" though, not "defiantly"

I'm really surprised to read the discussions about looks!
In Denmark we never had the first generation Jazz/Fit, so I never saw it until I began researching the '09 and found that the model had been around for years. So to me they are both "new".
Shortly before I got my Jazz, I actually saw the first generation (UK plates on visit) and to me there's no doubt seeing the two models for the first time - the old model looks ...well, old...! I think the new model is much better looking.
I think all the people who like the older model best do so because they are getting old themselves and because they have gotten used to the design

even this morning i had to carry a decent sized box to Fedex... that won't fit in the G's rear glove box. things like this just makes the Fit more fit for dd. plus i like reving 5K+.
rev 5K on the G and you can potentially cause too much unwanted attention...although the exhaust sounds nice.GD and GE are both winnars.

yah, there is a long list of people that requested that over the years.

As far as looks, the 1st gen Fit looks very Japanese in styling, while the 2nd gen looks very European. To my eyes I prefer the styling of the 2nd gen much more. I'm not saying that because I own the car, I would say that whether I owned a Fit or not. The looks are one of the things that kept me from buying the first Fit.

it looks older than the ge8 yes, but its not crx/ef civic old looking. come on man, i'm a fan of the ge8 too, but this is unecessary. it makes you just as bad as all the gd owning/loving ge8 haters.
