wink mirror/ remove sun visor?

i just got my wink mirror and right now i have it installed with the windshield mount kit, however it vibrates and moves alot and i'm assuming it would be better with the regular metal brackets. from what i understand it is suppose to screw into the hole from where the sun visor is removed. i cannot figure out how to get the sun visor off. i've tried pushing in the clip and pulling and twisting. also from what i've seen i don't even see 2 holes for the wink mirror when i finally get the visor removed. will i just have to cut and drill into the headliner? thanks

here it is mounted on the windshield. i'm fine with it like this but whenever i hit a significant bump in the road it will fall and face down.

after looking at it more it doesn't seem like it will fit in the sun visor hole, so any tips on cutting into the headliner to fix it?

I might try and make some sort of bracket to get it to the sun visor holes. There's not anything to anchor to underneath most of the headliner so I would be concerned about it holding properly. You may have luck anchoring the middle portion to the map light mounting bracket under the headliner, if you need to. I hope it works out, that thing is cool.

i was worried about that with headliner too. but after driving it a little more it didnt fall down again and was pretty useful. i might just leave it attatched to the windshield and try to clamp down on the little pivot ball thing that allows it to be adjusted just to make it firmer when driving on bad roads.

for the visor clips it's a twist and pull. can't remember if it's right or left
twist though. almost like a 1/4 turn and pull. comes right out.

i don't know what the deal was when i first put it on but i just drove 50 miles down rt.1 and it was perfectly fine even going over bridges and bumps at 75mph. can easily see a car next to me with space behind it before it shows up in my side mirror! $20 well spent

Ive always wanted one of those mirrors. And I thought my broadway mirror was awesome. Where can you get those? Do you remove the stock mirror or does it go over it?

i got mine from amazon for $20 but if you mount it how i did you have to buy 2 windshield mounts for like 10 each. and i took my regular rear-view off.

Thumbs up

i see a tie-dye shirt

the wink mirror looks great! is there a reason you put the windshield mounts in that position as opposed to the ends of the wink mirror? i'm thinking about getting one myself. my dad had one on his '78 corolla sport-back coupe -- i loved that car.

made the shirt myself
uh theres two screw holes at the location the mounts are at on the back of the mirror that the mounts screw into so you have to mount it that way. otherwise i would've been all over putting them on the sides. the regular mounts(for the sun visors or headliner) attach on the each side where those knobs are
