Issue with 2nd gen fit brake pedal, anyone else notice....
Issue with 2nd gen fit brake pedal, anyone else notice while sitting idle in park or in stop and go traffic while in drive or in gear for MT fits;
If the vehicle isnt moving much, and you press the pedal from being fully depressed slowly down it feels like there is resistance that is in tiny segments. Like the hydrolic has bubbles or something along those lines. It's hard to describe but if you had the same issue you would notice.
My girl has an 08 fit, and it does it full time but less of a feeling noticeable
Especially if you have to press it a few times without moving very far like stop and go highway traffic in NY.
It's a similar feeling as if the slave cyl in a honda clutch manual is going; how the pedal makes it all the way down slowly with little resistance but there is grabbing on the way down.
During normal driving the brake feels like air, perfect. Stop and go it becomes sort of crunchy, but in a non violent way.
It's NOT the abs, so don't suggest it. I have worked on hondas before and I know the difference.
Has anyone else observed this? Or have any clues if it is normal operation? I feel like it could possibly be the sign of pressure loss in the hydro system as the car is not moving due to the belts moving slow.

yes, i too have recently noticed this non smoothness of the brake pedal when in stop and go driving. There is some sort of friction when pressing down on the brake pedal.
I just assumed it was normal, never felt this before on my Integra's.

I've got the same thing. I wouldn't have said "crunchy" for fear thatt no one would really get it, but that's a really good description. I have it on my 2012 Base auto. Not sure what to do about it. It's a disconcerting feeling. Inconsistent with the otherwise tight feeling of the car.

The simplest explanation is grit in the pivot point. See if a little lubricant fixes it. I would not bet on this being the case, but you'll eliminate one explanation at least.
I shouldn't have to say this, but don't go to town with the lubricant. There's other stuff down there near the pedal that won't like getting covered in WD-40.

No sign of this on my '09 Sport with about 85k miles, much of it in stop-and-go traffic. But I am occasionally noticing oddness in the clutch. I'm waiting for this to get worse and, if it does, I'll start a thread with a description of exactly how it feels.

The worst I get is when it gets cold out (25 ish degrees) it feels firmer than I remember. It still grabs plenty hard and its still progressive, no crunchyness or anything.
