What to do with small dings on Silver fit?
I purchased my Silver 09 fit last night, and there was only one issue. With 4 miles on it there were 2 very small dings on the driver side door, just alittle bit above the handle. Unfortunately this car is manual and one of the only silver manuals in the bay area it seems, so just getting another one seems like a huge hassle.
The dealer said they could try buffing it, using alittle bit of paint, or repainting the entire door. However they said that any repainting would be a gamble because matching the silver color is almost impossible. He said it was due to the varying pressure that is set on the gun when the silver is painted, and that this changes the hue slightly and makes it really hard to match later.
Part of me thinks i should just do nothing, it looks like what happens when someone opens a door into your car and i'm sure i'l have a couple more of these in a couple months.
Anyone found an easy solution to this? Is my dealer blowing smoke? Any help is appreciated

That's good advice. If there's an actual ding in the metal, ensist that they take it out using paintless dent removal (PDR) techniques. Most of the time, these guys go by "Dent Doctor, "Dent Wizard", etc. Your dealer probably has someone they use on a regular basis. Once the tech pulls the ding, then have it touched-up. Avoid painting/blending an entire panel or side, if at all possible. The color and finish will not match exactly, and may not wear over time like the rest of your paint.

Don't worry, you would have gotten dings anyway dude!
Get it PDR'd. I get 12 dents/dings fixed a year for another 4 years, quantum protection plans are actually cost beneficial so I would recommend looking into them.
They usually come as a package and protect a ton of other crap and come with freebies. Mine has already paid for itself, but it's price was negotiated out of the bottom line anyway hehe.
