Gap

Have had my 2009 Fit a week now and am LOVING it!

When I was showing it off to a friend the other day I noticed at the top of the hood there's a black band that goes across just below the wipers. All the seams meet flush except for one on the passenger side. There's a gap of about a 1/2". I asked the dealer about it and he said all the Fits on the lot have this gap.

Have any of you noticed this and do you know why it's there? It's ugly and collects dirt and I don't like it there!!!!

Thanks
fun

I have asked my dealer to find out. Seems strange that it doesn't meet there.

Every '09 Fit I've looked at has the same gap, so it must be "normal". My first thought is that some draftsman goofed when designing the molds, but I suspect it is necessary to assemble/disassemble the plastic cowl.

Thanks to all. Just wondered about it since it looks exactly as Uncle said - some draftsman goofed. lol

I don't think it's a mistake. It's made that way for fast/easy assembly.
