Vinyls = Ricer?

Vinyls = Ricer?
Okay, so I've decided I may want to do a large simple black tribal pattern running the length of my ORM fit. Will this make me a ricer? Will it make people have a negative image of my car? I don't want to disgrace the fit but I think they look pretty cool when done properly.
Also, I always thought being a ricer meant making a car which is not a perfomance car, appear to be a perfomance car. The exact opposite of a sleeper car. Is this true? Or, can things which are done just for visual appeal also be considered ricing?

no offense (uh i got a tribal trampstamp the day i turned 18) but generic "tribal" designs are pretty played out. i'd say you should check out some specific non-romanic lettering/design. maybe something in thai or check some of the maori or native american designs. i do agree that bold large designs can look pretty rad tho. either way post pics!

Who cares what others think. Its your car. Do whatever you want to it. Dont spend your money modding your car to please other people.
Because to be honest with you, 99% of the people wont like it.

But if you're kinda conscience of overall appeal, think about fixing the rest of the car before you do the vinyl so that everything will flow and match. People are going to hate on you no matter what, but just brush them off your shoulder and be FIT!
I def kno the amount of attention (both good and BAD) that vinyl art can bring, trust me...

I Yam Who I Yam..
But prepare yourself for stupid questions or remarks, at least with Vinyl stickers if you get bored or dont like it anymore you can take it off.
Not like a "tribal trampstamp tattoo " yeah O.K. or the guy I knew in N.O. that had Devil Dogs with bleeding baby heads in their mouths on his upper arm

Unless you're half black and half vampire, don't do it! Leave the tribal crap for the lifted trucks.

U best be trollin. U need to stop building that bridge and come out from under it.
Nice kelso. Made me smile.
Pics or it never happened. Like infront of your car or something to make it believable. Or I'll just see it at the Dallas BBQ either way.

I have a vinyl graphic on my car (blacked out roof, hood graphic) it's not meant to make it look fast or anything, just WANTED TO SET THE CAR APART, i was real glad when i drove 13 hours to the tri city meet in LA and i was one of 4 white fits, but in every pic of posted of the cruises between citys, i could pick my car out easily
SCCA number plate is gone now but here is a pic of my car from far away @ the tri city meet
I SAY DO WHAT YOU WANT !

Vinyl's, for the most part, are not my thing. If you like it, then go for it. However, be forewarned that you will draw a lot of negative attention to your car (but this is the case with any car...some people hate on Ferrari's, some people love their Geo's)
I guess the point is, if you like it, that's all that matters. Just don't expect everyone else to fall in line with you...I know I won't

Now there's an example of vinyl done right. It looks "sporty" rather than "cheesy". It enhances the overall appeal of the car rather than becomes what the car is all about so to speak. A tribal design would be too loud or obnoxious on a Japanese car.
