Fit with Racing Stripes
#101
So, I want to put a racing stripe in my Blue Sensation Pearl Fit '09.
At first i was thinking a black stripe from back to bottom, like this:
But then I realize that the black stripe on blue will not surprise no one... it just doesn't look THAT good! I did some more search and saw the SILVER stripe on blue...
OK, OK I know that's not a honda fit, but look at the colors!
So in conclusion, I wanted the BLACK stripe to not add anymore colors to the outside (since it already has some black on the back). But then there's the silver stripe.
Which one will look better on a fit? Remember I would do only ONE stripe, like the red fit on the pic, not two.

TS:
Stripes aren't really my thing, but yours are the best I've seen on just about any car. They work well with the paint and aren't too showy

Silver or white would be my thoughts. you could even go yellow if there were yellow accents elsewhere (wheels, etc...) with a colored stripe, I'd try and match the wheels.
The other option would be using a different shade of the same color. flat black assymetrical stripe on a Black fit (or flat white on White) Dark Red on a red fit. etc... this would give it a sportier look without standing out so much; more subtle.

I like the stripes. They seem to be done well, something about the wheels makes them go together. The Turbo, it's a preference but I have only seem RS badges, this is the first Turbo one so if you like it, that's all that should matter, right ?

stripes, si; flaming another fitfreak, no!
I picked up my brand new 10 Sport (Storm Silver) today and almost immediately ran across a young woman at a music store driving a first gen Tidewater Blue. She said Hi and Thanks for buying a Fit! So I'm old enough to remember when cars like MGBs and Spridgets and Triumph Spitfires often sported stripes like this fella has on his. Often the stripes were offset to the driver's side. I kinda dig the stripes, but I'm not one to say my car has a turbo if it doesn't. Sooo, put me in for a fifty fifty, but hey, can't we all just get along? Driving a Fit puts me and all the rest of us in the category of not having to prove our manhood (womanhood?) with horsepower and vehicular size, so, hey, to each his or her own... Cool on ya, man!

It's all relative and perspective.
Heck, My Fit is on par with my 86 Prelude for performance numbers.

Fitorama... just curious... how wide are those stripes? I'm looking to put racing stripes on a red GD1 an am figuring dual 8 inch black would work but i'm trying to get a sense of proportion. The master plan is racing stripes, carbon fiber spoiler, 16 inch black rims with a drop.

Oddly I like the OP's stripes.
I wouldn't do it on my Fit, but I think they look fine.
If stripes on a Mini Cooper is acceptable then I think they should be fine on a Honda Fit.
I find it interesting that in my "Get Offa My Lawn" thread I had a lot of people into modification chiming in, in defense of individuality and personalization. But a lot of modification "purists" seem to be against these stripes.
Where are all these unwritten laws?
I have no problem with the stripes. I like them in the back. On the front? I might of off-centered them. Right down the middle does kind of make The Fit look like a giant 80's Raiders helmet...which I guess could be good.
In anycase...I see no problem. Go with it.
