hey everyone i did the fit base to sport conversions aparantley its alot of work lol, along with the bumper you need a new metal beam support because the base fit beam does not fit with the sport. You also need foglights and the wiring set up and bracket which im dealing with right now.

Back from the dead?

Man you dug up an old thread. Ironically I'm doing the same thing. I'm using the Mugen sides so I don't have to put the square holes in. What's this about the front bumper support? I was told they were the same... More to look up... I got my parts from Dan @ CFLHonda . prices were the lowest I could find and the shipping was fast. I didn't get the fog brackets or the bumper support IE bumper bar. I'm eventually going with the full Mugen exterior. So it's all done on yours? Could you share some pics?

Bumper Support

Man they list the same PN for the bumper support.
Honda Automotive Parts
Honda Automotive Parts
First link is the base exploded view and second is the sport. Look at the part numbers. They are the same. I assume we are still talking GE. I have a 2010. GD may be different. I have the bumper, fog light assemblies, wire harness, combo switch, and relay. By my checking that is all I need. It should be plug and play. Almost as easy a the keyless entry. Nothing is that easy. Buy the key, program the remote, and have the dealer program the immobilizer chip. The whole thing cost me $85. Too bad the cruise control isn't that easy...

It would be nice if some enterprising company would just go ahead and make a good looking and reasonably priced front spoiler lip and side skirts for the GE8 Base. There is only about a million of them out there so I suspect there would be a market. I am not really interested in swapping over to a Sport bumper as I like the looks of the Base bumber I have but it needs a lip of some kind to match up with side skirts which are a VERY desirable addition.

wonder if the guys that make quality after market body parts ever read these forums? Hello?

Check out CFLHonda for pricing on parts. There is no kit. I contacted Dan @ CFL. I bought the bumper, both foglights, combo switch, and relay. All the parts I bought are new OEM from Honda. I still have to get the bumper painted. All of the Mugen parts come painted. I recommend the Mugen sides over the stock ones because the stock ones require square holes to be cut into the rocker panel. College Hills Honda has multiple part installation videos on you tube including the Mugen side skirts!

That's an opinion. While I definitely like the Sport look more than the Base, its still an opinion. Let's not pretend its a fact.

My bad I just noticed you're from Italy. I'm not sure if the USDM (American) bumper would work. As far as side skits go, I'd still recommend the Mugen. The don't require square holes and go on in minutes. The College Hills Honda install video is very informative. If your front is JDM style, meaning shorter than ours here in the US (USDM) You have a lot more options than us! If the shipping were cheap enough I would gladly trade front ends with you. The shipping would prove to not be cost effective.

I just checked. Your Jazz in Italy has the JDM style (Short) front. The bumper will not work. A JDM RS bumper should. Check around online. Not to mention that there are SO MANY aftermarket kits available! I wish we could trade fronts! I'd love to have an RS Fit!

Did a little research. Here is the parts list I came up with and prices from Hondapartsnow.com - lowest prices I could find on-line for the parts needed.

The Fog light kit the dealers install as an option for the base.
Fog Lights kit Part Number: 08V31-TK6-100 $234.00- evidently not the same as the Sport Fogs...

04711-TK6-A90ZZ FACE, FR. BUMPER (DOT) $169.33
All the Front beams and spacers carry the same part numbers for both Sport and base in the exploded parts breakdown. If there is any actual difference there was no evidence of it in the parts listings.

*SIDE SKIRTS*
71800-TF0-J01ZE GARNISH ASSY., R. SIDE SILL *NH642M* (STORM SILVER METALLIC) JPN 1ea $211.35 $153.22
71850-TF0-J01ZE GARNISH ASSY., L. SIDE SILL *NH642M* (STORM SILVER METALLIC) JPN 1ea $211.35 $153.22
91503-SZ3-003 CLIP A, BUMPER JPN 4ea $2.20
91513-SLA-003 CLIP, SIDE SILL GARNISH (UPPER) JPN 2ea @ $3.60
91514-SAA-003 CLIP, SIDE SILL GARNISH (UPPER) JPN 2ea @ $1.57
91514-SYP-003 CLIP, SIDE SILL GARNISH (UPPER) JPN 14ea @ $1.28
91514-TF0-003 CLIP, SIDE SILL GARNISH JPN 4ea @ $2.69

74475-TK6-A00 STRAKE, R. RR. JPN 1 $4.14 ?? Needed ??
74485-TK6-A00 STRAKE, L. RR. JPN 1 $4.14 ??

*SPOILER*
74900-TK6-A01ZD SPOILER ASSY., TAILGATE *NH642M* (STORM SILVER METALLIC) JPN 1ea $228.25
74901-TK6-A01ZD LID, R. TAILGATE SPOILER *NH642M* (STORM SILVER METALLIC) JPN 1ea $7.79
74971-TK6-A01ZD LID, L. TAILGATE SPOILER *NH642M* (STORM SILVER METALLIC) JPN 1ea $7.79
90102-SAA-901 BOLT, SPECIAL (6MM) JPN 2ea @ $1.33
91513-SJK-003 CLIP, TAILGATE GARNISH JPN 4ea @ $1.91

Comes out to a bit over a grand for parts then add installation and paint if you are not inclined to do it yourself.

Some assembly required...

Check the Mugen side skirts, They don't require you to cut square holes in the Rocker Panel. They may cost a little more but ease of installation for the DIY guys!
CFLHonda
Keep in mind the price is everything you need to install, installs in minutes, and comes painted to match!

$347.06 plus shipping and labor including the square holes vs $560.90 plus shipping and installation in minutes! It all depends on how much $ your time is worth...

BTW the foglights are different. You cannot use the accessory kit on the sport bumper, but if you don't want to change the combo switch CFL will separate parts from the kit so you can get just the accessory switch, harness, and relay. I'm using the sport combo switch for a more integrated look! I have pics in my albums. Click my pic and go to my albums. I have pics of the parts still in the packaging. I'm waiting for the $ to paint the bumper and the it's on!

What year is yours? I posted a similar thread but I am learning to live with the base, I'm starting to like it a bit more......anyways, you can go with two options, there's the 2012 sport bumper (which would require the 2012 grille because Honda refreshed the Fit for this year) Or you can just settle for the the 09-11 bumper if you prefer the smaller grille. I'm thinking of doing a lip on mine....I would do a side skirt but Hownet is right, you'd need to drill holes and I don't really feel like doing that to my rockers. :\ Good luck!

I'll have to try those Mugen skirts BTW!!! Especially if it doesn't require drilling holes!

So many guys here would love to trade cars w/ you. I would just look for a JDM body kit as has been mentioned before. I like sport better than base and I like JDM kits better than sports.
