I usually change my oil and rotate tires at 10-15% life left with synthetic oil.
With the cabin and engine air filters, if you can brush your teeth, you can replace those two things in 5 minutes flat COMBINED.
Purchase them from Amazon for about $10-15 each and save yourself a bunch of money. Put the saved funds into upgrading to synthetic.

I figure it's cheap maintenance so I took it to a quick lube and put in Castrol Edge 0W-20. I don't have a probably taking the car in to Honda for the next service. I assume it would be at least another 7,000 km.

The lube centre checked various things. The air filter is a little bit dirty so I will change that at Honda next. They wanted $40 at this Mr. Lube. The guys asked if can check the cabin filter and I told him I will get that at the dealer. He asked if I want an engine flush and surely I said no. Anyways I feel better now that at almost 25,000 km the Fit had it's 2nd oil change.

I just changed my oil this past Sunday. Can't remember how long or how many miles it's been since the last one. I just check my oil regularly and change it when the oil on the dipstick gets pretty dark (I don't wait till it's black like a lot of people). I used Mobil 1 0W-20 Full Synthetic, and it says right on the bottle it's good for 15k miles. The synthetics nowadays are just that good. The days of changing oil every 3k-5k miles are over with the new synthetics. Even the modern conventional oils can go longer than 7k I would bet. Also heavily depends on how you drive. I drive my car pretty hard so I burn oil a lot faster.

I'd never take my Fit to Mr. Lube. Those guys are total scammers.

was averaging 34-35 mpg last couple of months. this tank is at 30.1 now. colder temps. back to school traffic. winter fuel mix. low tire pressure. 7drop in mpg.

honda programmed the ecu to read various engine parameters to determine a rough guess of oil life. No point in changing oil prior to 20%

synthetic oil, even in the dirtiest and harshest environments, still lasts over 10k miles if the engine stays in good condition.

Yes I was just concerned that I only had one oil change at 25,000 km. Moving forward I will let the reminder dictate. As for cabin filter and air filter I think when you take it in for service their service package price would include these whether or not you need it. So if I changed the air filter myself they are not going to deduct the cost from the package price. I could be wrong.

Sometimes I sent 2 or 3 times the same email asking him about the price + shipping of the product I looking for, and always put a link of the product that he is selling

Got an intermittent TPMS light

Whoever said to me on here that they'd start going out at 100k miles was spot on. Oh well, need new tires anyway so i'll just replace the two remaining OEM sensors while i'm there.

Closest I'll get to a wood grain steering wheel, being A/T. Slowly on my own path to VIP-ish!
