Yes, back on topic.. Replaced the instrument panel gauge plastic today, the original one was scratched up & I managed to crack it when taking it out to polish off the worst of the scratches. Air dusting from now on!

I just scratched mine again lightly after replacing them, by air-dusting do you mean one of those canned ones that you use for a computer?

Interested in doing this. I know there's a DIY thread somewhere but I can't find it, anyone have the link? And what about putting clear vinyl over the plastic when replacing it. Then you could wipe it (still w/ a microfiber cloth) without the worry of putting those fine scratches on?

I used this thread:

https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...e-cluster.html

If you have any questions let me know, I have basically done this twice since I realized I left some of the tabs outside of the cluster when I did it the first time and had to remove everything again

Yes, canned air. I have found even using the softest microfibre cloth I could find still put scratches in the plastic.

Got my order of car washing stuff that I ordered from autogeeks.com living downtown can make it a hassle to was the cars so I ordered some opium no rinse car wash. Stuffs so money and you don't have to hose to wash it off, just dry with a microfiber towel. Now if it would stop raining I could actually use it. Also placed an order for the hks axle-back last night. Should like good with the jdp diffuser, can't wait

Get one of the soft brushes that women use on their cheeks when applying face power. I have used one for a lot of years on the instrument cover and no scratches yet. Use it to brush LIGHTLY any dust build up.

new member here, i have been lurking for about 4 days now. I clay'd and waxed my '13 Black Sport 5MT. I was dumb and forgot that it is a bad idea to wax in Phoenix in the summer....the wax was a pain to get off (that's what she said) even after 10 minutes.

I then remembered that I used to clay/polish/wax (3 coats)/seal my old 2006 350z that I used to have...but i would also drink 6 redbulls and it would take me from 5am-1am to do that.

Took it on a nice back road drive today - 250ish miles. Was very happy and very impressed with the handling. I just wish it had a bit more HP for the hills.

Also signed up for a track day in September. Can not wait!!

Considering what you are using it for that was a really good idea to dip it rather than use painters tape like what people normally do
