Two minor annoyances with my Fit
I could look in the manual for answers to this, but asking here would probably be quicker, and my car isn't here right now, it's getting tinted.
1. The headrests are too forward leaning for my tastes. Is there a way to adjust them to make them more straight? I have tried all the way down, but then the top of the headrest hits the back of my head and gives me no neck support, I have tried up, but then my head hits the bars and feels like I have something hovering over my head... I'd actually rather it lean back a little, so that the bottom half of the headrest is against my neck and the top of it is behind my head. The way it is now feels like it is forcing me to look down at my feet if I lean back into it.
2. The navigation shows a disclaimer screen when it boots up every time that gets old, and I have only had the car less than a week. I have to hit OK every time to proceed to the next screen. It's really annoying if I just shut the car off for a minute to run inside somewhere and come right back out... I expect it to just start up... by now I know that I need to pay attention to the road, etc, blah blah... (honestly I haven't even read it, I just tap OK to get past it)

Can't get rid of the OK screen unless someone comes out with a hack for it.
I had it on my Pioneer AVIC D3 in my Integra, and my VW RNS-510 had it when I first bought it. After a firmware upgrade it was gone though.
I imagine the same would need to be done with the Honda one, firmware update with the hacked software to disable the OK screen.
The headrests seem fine to me then again I never adjust them since I' never in the car for more than 20mins.

Nag screen : has been discussed and seems there might be some hack that removes it - requires some technical know-how as you would be making a hack dvd installer app for the nav. Haven't seen an actual link for it yet though. Installing a personalized background image has been done though. Heh heh...

There's a somewhat cumbersome hack out there to replace the splash screen, but nothing for the nag screen that I've found as of yet.
It's more or less standard on all nav units I've seen and I don't think Honda would attempt to remove it with a firmware update. They've got little to gain from exposing themselves to that type of liability.

Not so. In 2008, BMW changed that 'idiot screen' software. You get the disclaimer when starting the engine, but it goes away by itself after about 10 seconds, and you then have full navigation functionality.

I was referring to the existence of the nag screen itself. I also have a Magellan portable unit that will bypass the screen if you don't click anything.
Ideally, a hack would remove it altogether and go straight to the map.

I thought I was the only one who noticed this. I keep trying to lean back, but the headrests force me into a round shouldered posture. I realize this is supposed to enhance safety, but sheesh!

To my back, the problem is with the combination of the forward headrests and the depression in the top of the backrest, which makes me slouch too, something that I both hate to do (my mother’s good training, I suppose) and find very uncomfortable. I’ve substantially solved this problem by taking the advice of someone on an earlier headrest thread and: (1) unzipping the fabric on the back of the seat (2) unclipping the fabric at the bottom so that I could roll it up to reveal the white-plastic active-headrest plate inside, and then (3) experimenting over several days with folding a cotton hand-towel various numbers of times and stuffing it in front of the plate so as to push out the depression. This moves your upper back forward, and hence lets you move your head back further before you hit the headrest. Others have also talked about bending the posts to the headrest back a bit, although I haven’t seen a post by anyone who’s actually done it.

What I hate is pulling into a gas station, shutting down to fuel, and then having to look at the lawyer screen all over again when I restart. Then I get a separate warning that my route will take me on "unverified" roads if I'm going anywhere from here. Then I get a third warning when I'm going onto these unverified roads. According to navi woman I should use extra caution. Heck, it's not the roads, it's the @#$$#%!!! deer.
I think I got my headrest adjusted so it doesn't hit my head all the time. I think I tilted the seat a little.
Cheers

the headrests bother me to in the same way. I just marked it as one of my biggest annoyances with my Fit in the official Honda satisfaction survey. Hopefully it'll get some attention in the future. Other than the dash rattle, these are the only 2 complaints I have, which speaks a lot for the Fit.
