*SIDE NOTE* i have not owned a set... its just what i've heard through other people's experiences...

im familiar with them because they are semi popular with the aw11 crowd (i used to own a 87 then a 89 mr2)... as it is one of a few coilover suspension available... usually the advice is koni/gc over d2... they're both about the same price... (koni/gc is koni inserts and gc coilover sleeves on stock housings, so its not even a coilover)... from what i remember the springs that come with it tend to corrode as well...

*edit*

i would go with Tein, Buddy Club, HKS, Toda, ETC. just because this brands have been around and they are proven to be both street and race tested but would cost a bit more than your genericD2's, FF2, Skunk2, Ground controls etc.

i'd rather spend a bit more for quality, reliablity, performance, and longetivity.

and to be the first with this answer, right now you have tanabe nf and df, rsr makes 3 different springs in their ti2000 line althoguh expensive and at least 2-3 month wait.eibach shoudl be out soon as well as others. I and many others have the df's and they are great for what they are, a decent drop and ride damn near same as oem.

best of luck!
