Some halfway decent pics!
Took these after work with my new camera, Nikon D60. Still getting aquainted with the DSLR, I have yet to grasp the great powers that they hold. It was freezing out and I just wanted to snap a few pics before I left! So I just did one angle, when it warms up this weekend I'll get some more.

here is another one i took at 5:30 in the morning the other day, i still had that eye haze so it looked in focus when i took it lol, all the pictures i took would have turned out nice if my eyes wouldn't have been blurry lol.

If you invested in a tripod of some kind you would love your pictures.

i got one for free.99, I just need to put a shim in it because it leans to the left lol, that out of focus one is because i had it in manual focus mode and my eyes were still hazed up from sleep, the first post pics were with no tripod.
Fogs are 3000k hids. $60 kit of ebay lol

Exactly. Your pictures aren't blurry because of bad focus, they are blurry because you are hand holding the camera at shutter speeds of 1/10, 1/4, and 1/2 second (according to the EXIF data in your pics). At those long exposures needed for night shots, it's almost impossible to get a sharp handheld shot, even if you are using a lens with image stabilization. A good tripod will go a long way. Or, if you have to handhold, find something to steady yourself on, and set the camera to bracket 3 shots at .3EV exposure steps, and hold the camera completely still while it takes all three photos in a row. The first one is usually blurry for me, but the second two are usually pretty sharp.

hey, the fact that you had it in a mode other than AUTO to even get a shutter speed of 1/10 sec. has over half of the DSLR owners out there beat. pics look great man. and yes, read the manual! DSLRs have so much creative potential if you are willing to experiment and know the functions/features of them.
again, nice pics and thanks for sharing...we could use some more quality shots around here.
