Which suspension??

Okay. I had the Tanabe NF's installed on my car. Rode okay when I had stock rims/tires...Rode like SH*T when I slapped on my rims (17x7.5 +43 & 205/40's). I swear it felt like my neck was gonna snap going over moderate bumps and cracks. It almost seemed as the bumpstops were riding on the shock mounts. OUCH. I trimmed the bumpstops to spec and did the install correctly, but man. Thus, I went ahead and installed the CUSCO coilovers. Night & Day difference? No, but a considerable difference when riding over bumps and other imperfections on the road. And for considering how low it is right now, it rides like a champ

Regarding the drop, there was still about 2-finger gap when I put on my rims. There was a little less than 2-finger gap when the stockies were on. See my prior posts...I've had some pics on them.

Wow if you had NF's on and it felt bad, because I'm thinking of maybe upgrading my wheel to 17in too.. Coilovers are too much money, so from ur post I guess an aftermarket 16in wheels would feel better wit the NF's. But I'm thinking of getting DF's but not too sure which will be better for stock struts. Also I went to cusco's website but they only have coils for GD not GE?

I would personally shy away from DF's in Illinois, and also 17" wheels. It is so easy to crash & trash a wheel here.
Now in California, that is a lot different situation, you don't got the worries, it is easier to be macho and have yer parts live a long life.

So tork do you recommend getting the NF's. I mean would that be a pretty good drop and safe on the oem struts?

lol -25 here this morning. At 5 id be in heaven

df's but Im used to a more rough ride, although its 100% true when you buy a proper coil over set up with dampening controll it will help a lot. Personally Im all for the df, The nf just wouldnt do it for me and at a low price of 250-300, thats really nothing in the long or short run.

Hope you make the right decision and be sure to make it your own.


Give it another few months and youll see a lot more companies with quality products out there for our cars.

Yea I was thinking about waiting for a spring and struts setup instead of just springs, hopefully it comes out soon..

For those of you guys that are in no hurry, I talked to Swift Springs and they are working on something for the GE8. Their release date is set for May. Best springs ever!

Sorry for late response. Well, I'm not a mad suspension expert, but I'm assuming that the lower you go with stocks struts, the quicker it'll stop working correctly (i.e. blow or just not valve properly). I think your choice of 16's with NF's should ride fine. I've sold my NF's to a friend with a Fit, and he likes them on the stock rims, but does wish it were a little lower... but none the less, satisfied overall.

Regarding the Cusco coilovers for the GE, they're found on the Japanese page in case you were curious:

????GE8??????ZERO1??????? ???? ?????????
