What's The Mileage On Your GE8?
#41
5200 miles, 50% oil life. Purchased Aug 27th. My 2007 Fit Sport which has 35000 miles on it, would light the oil change minder at about 6000 miles consistantly. Anyone else seen this differnce? I am driving the exact same routes to work with the 09.

Not the sport.
Mine is a base model, Milano Red. I really like it. It is a solid built little car and I enjoy driving it a lot. I kind of wanted a sport but could not find one. I am kind of glad I got the base now. When I look at a sport and a base I like the simpler look of the base better.

I bought my 09 TW sport AT in October.
Exactly 6.6k miles, and it STILL reads %50 oil life.
Kinda scary, I've read other threads about the oil life and stuff and people worrying about their first change and stuff, but there were no clear answers I could see.
Just got my 3rd month email from my dealership too...
"It's been 3 months, has your car hit the 3000 mile mark yet? blah blah"
Maybe they are just doing what stealerships do...
Anyway! The Fit is just a pleasure to drive. Anytime I'm chilling with friends and we need to make a trip I'm always down to take a spin in my car.

Just to be a show off with my transformer car, flipping seats around and opening all sorts of doors and hatches and then getting to DRIVE it somewhere with a purpose.

I almost offered a lady with a HUGE cart of groceries a ride home today when I went to the store. She was waiting for a cab.

The Fit does this! Man, I was so happy when my musician friends needed help moving their amps and cases. One friend was standing behind the car kinda puzzled, "Dude... if we fold the seats down, where am I going to sit?" So just folded UP the 60 part of the backseat, fit the tall bass and keyboard, and amps in the back! Finally saw some utility!
I like giving people rides in my Fit. They are always so impressed with what they thought was a "little car".
Also, the handling is agile and its fun to take corners or flip U-ies and watch the passengers scramble to hold on.
guilt-free miles for me!

I get a zombie persona with glazed over eyes while calculating the cubic feet of anyone's cart or flat of products, chanting (in my head) "It'll fit in my FIT, It'll fit in my FIT"

I should build my own Honda Fit-only dealership. I love showing this car to the uninformed. It's such an easy car to sell because it has strengths and sale points everywhere. I love watching people's expressions after showing the roominess and folding seats up/down in this car.

That's the kind of model variants that I would like to see in the FIT. I'd still have bought the Base model and I'd still be pleased as punch. But there would be more selection and options for others. The Sport would still be sporty. Adding in a Luxury edition with the squishier seats in leather that are heated, etc, that would be great for a lot of people. And the Special Edition with roof rack, for people who would do camping or kayaking, etc.
Plus the Hybrid, of course. Plus a couple of engine options.
Why are those Big 3 automakers having so much trouble? I think one problem was too many car models, that did not do much of anything. While the Fit fits all kinds of needs for all kinds of people.
