Question Place of manufacture for current Fit ???

Are all of the current generation Fits available for sale in the US assembled in Japan, or elsewhere? Also, do you know where the engine is manufactured? Manual transmission? Automatic transmission?

Thanks in advance ...

All Current USDM Fits (MT and AT) are manufactured in Suzuka, Mie Japan.

Suzuka is the city, Mie is the Prefecture (like a county in the US).

Search Honda Cars Suzuka, Japan with Google maps Satellite view mode. You get a good view of the place.

Totally OT, but if you go to Tokyo you can do street view:

Thanks for the info. I realize this info is on the sticker, but if I'm working a deal from an out of town dealer, I can't see each / every sticker until I make the (sometimes long) trek to actually see the car / close the deal. I am hoping to avoid a "surprise" of traveling to see a car, only to find out it's made in a country other that Japan, etc.

That's really cool but I think that's just a dealer in Tokyo.

Yes, I can confirm that my window sticker says it is made in Suzuka, Mie, 100% Japanese parts. If you're concerned about supporting the US auto market, this is not the car for you.

True Dave, Honda invested $550 million in the Greensburg Indiana Plant for the Civic and are laying off some of the one shift they have up and running.

They are not going to let that investment sit for too long not being fully utilized. I expect Fit and Insight production there at some point and maybe fairly soon

However I must say, our 08 Civic EX was made in Ontario Canada and quality is very good.

Honda, as of last September, was going through the "exercise" of looking at the cost to pull production of the Fit into the Greensburg, IN plant. That's all I can say ...

Even if the quality gains are only perceived, I enjoy driving "Japanese" cars.

When I bought my '95 V6 Camry, there were like fifteen on the lot that were North American built and only one Japanese built. I took the Japanese unit even though it wasn't my favorite color.

I also drive an '08 Mazda CX-9 that was built in Hiroshima, Japan.

Buy it while it is still being made in Japan! You know for sure you'll get that 100% quality build and FIT.
