2009 Honda Fit Sport AT price check?
#3
I paid $17251, with wheel locks and carpet floor mats as options. Price breaks down as follows:
17164 = invoice
-250 = discount
+ 125 = document fee
+ 79 = wheel locks
+ 139 = floor mats
Yes, I know I probably overpaid for the floor mats and wheel locks. I surveyed 11 dealers, got offers from 7, and this was the best offer by over $200.

You can buy the mats cheaper at collegehills honda or a few other sites that are named often on this site. They are $89 for the all seasons I believe, and im sure you would be able to manage the install yourself

If they (or you) mess it up, it's the whole carpet that is messed up. AND the anchors are anchored to NOTHING!

Like Howdy Honda, but they list NO prices:
Howdy Honda – Austin, TX – Search our inventory of Honda Fits
What were you looking for specifically?

Have you done any shopping online? You can browse many Austin dealers online and check out their current inventory of new cars.

Be sure to check out this thread on how the 2009 anchors for the mats are installed.

I mean, the given instructions with the cargo cover were terrible (I had to reference the Honda tech instructions to get the actual measurements), but the floor mat instructions were as simple as they could be. Well, a bit nerveracking, but if you followed the steps (And didn't miss the ATTENTION DONT CUT IT ALL OUT), it wasn't too bad. If you're supposed to be a tech and rush it that bad, well, I have nothing kind to say.

[cutout] /slit/ driver's seat
Anchor has a hinge, the bottom of the anchor slides in the slit, under the carpet and appears in the cutout. Then the top part of the anchor is folded down onto the bottom part in the cutout area. That is how the anchor is attached to the floor.
And then there is a twisty knob on the mats that attaches to the anchors to keep the mat from sliding forward.
It's a cheesy solution, not nearly as sturdy as the former models, that had a hook that either screwed or snapped into the body frame.
But I bet they moved away from the hook as I bet people's dresses and trousers snagged on the hook. Either tearing their clothing or making them look really stupid or silly as they sought to exit their vehicle and instead fell on their face.
The point of the anchor is to keep the mat from sliding up under your pedals. When you hit the brakes, are you wanting just to slow down a bit, or would you really like to stop?
I know I like to stop as required. That's not the time to realize that your mat (thanks to your own feet) has wedged itself up and under your brake pedal, causing a crash.
There are a couple of crashed FIT pictures in this forum section. The rollover. And another. You can pay them $50.00 to do the carpets (right, hopefully), and be sure to check the work when done before leaving. Or you can wait for the inevitable mat wedgie under the brake pedal and total your car.
Not a toss up for me, I choose to keep the car and pay for the mat installation, even if it is a bit high. If they screw it up, they have to fix it. If I screw it up, I'll have to pay them even more money to fix it and pay for the mat anchor install anyway.
