Here it is guys. It took longer than I expected, but it's finally done!

Now I feel that my new Fit is almost complete.

Don't know about you, but the factory CD/radio is crap. The buttons and controls are hideous-looking and the sound is crappy with no equalizer.

First some details, for those of you who want to replace the factory unit.

1. NOBODY has a dash kit yet. But you can start with the Honda 09 Fit factory NAVI panel (part # 77251-TF0-G01ZA) from Bernardi for ~$35 + shipping.
2. I used a reputable, experienced car audio shop here in town. I talked to 2 Best Buys, 2 Circuit Citys and a Car Toys dealer. They didn't tell me the part #'s but they were all in their stock. They used an 08 Honda Accord wiring harness, and a new Honda antenna adapter. The bracket was something the modified, probably a universal mount.
3. I ordered my Pionneer AVIC-F90BT from a vendor on eBay for $636 shipped. It is a new unit w/ the 2.0 software. It has a 3-year warranty and they will exchange it for a new unit during the 1st year.

my total install cost was:

Labor $100.00
harness $20.99
antenna $12.99
tax $2.29
----------------------
TOTAL $136.27

You can't see it well, but in my car the GPS antenna is in the far right corner of the dash by the windshield. It has excellent strength.

The bluetooth mic is on the ceiling clipped right to the driver's map light. I've made 2 calls with it and the callers said it sounded good.

The NAVI is way different from my Garmin. It will take some getting used to. I don't know how to change the settings yet.

can you add the oem stereo controls on the steering wheel?

 

I'm investigating this now and I'm pretty sure you can but the replacement harness that has the steering wheel controls is around $90.

I'm getting ready to do this, too. I bought the navi panel, the Metra kit (99-7898), the Scoshe Accord harness (HA11B), and the Metra antenna adaptor (40-HD10). I just need to actually buy a head unit now. Looking for an Eclipse--either an AVN6610 or AVN6620 because I have Sirius and I want integrated Sirius with real time traffic (which means I need to buy Sirius SIR-ECL2nt).

Wow that looks pretty cool. I think I might go in for such a setup when I can set some money aside for this. It's a pain to deal with my Garmin and it's power wires

 

How's the viewing angle? Do you get much glare in the sunlight?

I'm considering this as a future project, but just got my Nuvi mounted nicely where I want it (to the left of the center vents) and all the wires are routed nicely behind the dash. The stock stereo is okay IMO (I'm no audiophile).

One last question... were you able to keep the iPod hookup in the glove box?

I did some research on this too and I think the part number you listed (36770-TK6-A31) is for the cruise control and buttons. The audio control switches are part# 36770-TK6-A41. From the picture on the website, it looks like it includes both audio cruise controls along with the wire harness and costs $199.16. This is according to the Honda eStore website.
