DRL in canada, and HID

Hi guys, I am thinking of getting HIDs, but being in canada, my fit has DRL, I would like to keep the DRL running because my fit is black (keep me safe when its dark), any ideas of any other canadian fits that have got HIDs? and how did you guys deal with this problem?

why not do the independent foglight mod and use your fogs as DRLs

Why not just keep your HIDs on all the time?

Just keep it stock, I know HID's are really tempting as they are good for visibility and what not. HID on a non projector head light assembly will give out too much glare and can cause other motorist to be blinded by it.

Not sure how the cops are down there, if they find it blinding and found out your HID is non OEM and Non DOT approved you could get a nice yellow coupon.

Use the search function or the Lighting section of the forum and you should be able to find someone that retrofits projectors on the Fit headlights. Projectors + HID is better in my opinion.

There are some here who are running HID's on OEM headlight assemblies. Not sure how they counter or fixed the problem with glare.

It sure does. You have to get the dual bulb ones with the halogen high and hid low.

for legal purposes (b/c its mandatory in ON to have day time running lights) a Fit equipped with HID can always just turn on their headlights in the very first position (i cant remember the correct term for those but the orange little bulbs at the top corner of the headlight housing). Those can serve as daytime running lights. Yes your tail-lights will also be turned on but there's no law against that. A lot of american cars use those amber corners as their day time runners
