Question What do I do with my factory parts when I upgrade something?

Guys,

I know everyone here has done mods and upgrades on their Fits.

I'm just starting to put some stuff on and I wonder what I should do with the original parts. . .

Specifically:
  1. Tomorrow, I'm getting the factory stereo swapped out. In the past, I've always kept these in case I wanted to pull my newer headunit when I sell the car. This one's a no-brainer
  2. I just replaced the dinky Honda armrest on my Fit with the really nice one from Bernardi. There are several screws and the armrest itself. Should I just throw it away?

Any other ideas of what to do... sell on ebay?

yes yes you must keep them! Just incase you need to go back to stock to either sell the car or pass warranty/emissions or anything like that. It would suck to sell your stock parts just to end up trying to buy them back later when you want to sell the car. lol.

Ok. It's unanimous. I'll keep them.

It's funny, because every time I clean out a closet or the garage, I find parts from past cars that were upgraded.

I have stuff from my old Civics, Tacoma, etc. I could start my own museum of vehicle memorabilia!

Sell if you want or keep. Aftermarket parts are not worth much on the car when you sell it so you're better off parting out later on

Definitely Keep them if you can. Never know if you will decide to sell at the spur of the moment. Buyers don't care about aftermarket and will actually try to give less because they will try to say you ragged the car out.

if you want your after market parts(money) to count in the sale of the car just have the dealer install them(if they well) and have the paper to back up the clam i have see Subaru do this first hand but than we are talking Honda...

Already been said, but I'll say it again. KEEP THEM! I still have old parts from my Civic sitting around, and that car is sold.

Actually I just sold my 08 Fit Sport Wheels. I'm sure 09 Fit Sport wheels won't hurt my sale if I ever sell the Fit.
