BBP GE8 build up thread

Well, I decided to start my build up thread so I can compile everything I've done and will do to the car. Please feel free to share opinions and comments.

I'll start with the tint and the fog light Ricochet protection film. Windows are tinted 20% for the back and the front are at 35%. I've also added a strip of 20% on the top of the windshield because of the poor coverage of the sun visors.

I've installed a T1R quick shifter and a T1R Titanium ball shift knob. I love the way the car shifts now...great improvement!

Now for the bad news. My friend had some Advan RG 16X7 wheels sitting around. I told him I would them and test fit them on my car. After closer inspection I saw the +31 stamped in the back of the wheels. I decided to give them a try anyway- nothing to lose! I knew the rears would fit good since there is a lot of room in the back fender. I knew the front would be border line out of the fenders but since I've been dreaming of those wheels since Gran Turismo 2, I couldn't help but try them on! Here are the results:

I guess it's a NO go... Once I lower the car I think I'll be rubbing in the front fenders pretty bad unless I'm running -3* camber

Can the fenders roll out 20mm? Seems like a bit much!

lowered with -2 degrees of camber using the camber bolts you can get from JDM_DOHC_SIR and those would fit with ease.

Time to man up!

Lightbulb

20mm is a bit of a reach.... but it could be done...with camber bolts and pulling the fenders a bit.... it all depends on how much you are worried about the front tires sticking out.. . .

I'm not too worried about the tires sticking out as much as I'm worried about the tires hitting the front fenders over bumps or while turning!

Just roll the fenders, and a tiny bit of camber and it will work.
They will look sick once you drop the car.

I've never rolled fenders...Once the fenders are rolled do you put the plastic fender liner back in or just leave it out?

I wish it was that simple! Unfortunately, I used the car to drive the kids around and I can't have a suspension setup that is too stiff since my youngest is 15 months old. My Talon has a really stiff setup which is awesome on the track but it never sees a passenger.

I'm getting some wheels priced out in the next few days...TE37's, RG2's, RPF1's, CE28's, RE30's and a few more

Nice color! Good luck, sounds like you've got some nice wheels in mind. Wish I would've bought an MT.

Little update. I got some more goodies today, nothing serious!
T1R Voltage stabilizer...just installed it quickly to see if it made a difference, couldn't really notice anything on the way home.

T1R oil cap...at least 40WHP

I think you should keep the RGs. Just roll your fenders and camber it a little. I don't think you should tuck your wheels under if you have plans like that. +35 would look pretty aggressive on your car!

The RGs would look awesome with the car dropped (in the spring), I might roll the fenders but I hate doing stuff like that on a new car! Why can't they make carbon wide fenders for the GE yet?

Little update. I decided against the RGs because of the offset. I'm still looking for a set of wheels but I'm undecided at the moment. I installed some 8000K Hi/Lo HIDs today and it makes the car look awesome. Next on the list is a set of springs and some rims!

lawlz on the 40 whp oil cap! The Fit looks great so far with the minimal mods. I like how the T1R accents the BBP if I'm not mistaken.

With the voltage thing, try to be in a completely dark place. and try turning on your headlights, and then turn another electrical such as the map light. It's not easily noticed, but usually because everything is powered together, light starts to dim a bit the more lights are turned on. I believethe grounder helps in that department as well.

But anyways, its looking great!
