Where's the love for 15x7 wheels?

I see in the monster 09 aftermarket wheel thread that most folks are going 16, 17, or 18 on their wheels.

That surprises me cause I'd figure this high mpg, low HP car would scream for some lightweight 15x7 wheels in a +40-45 offset (like the RPF1s or 6ULs). I'd guess the 205/55-15 would be a great size tire for this wheel, maybe even a 225/50-15 (if it would without rubbing).

Am I way off base or have not enough 09 Fit Sports been out yet to have people looking to downsize to 15s?

Has anyone tried the above sizes yet? pics and feedback?

I doubt you'll see many people wanting to downsize their wheels. The new Fit looks best on 16" or 17" wheels... Maybe some Base owners will run 15" aftermarkets.

15" just don't look right on a GE8. I was thinking about downsizing but after looking on Tirerack I've changed my mind and decided to keep it 16"..I think it's the best between comfort and handling.

well Im stepping up to 17's but because of the drop in tire size, Im actually 1-2% smaller in overall diameter, and my wheels are lighter than stock so(15lbs), MPG will not suffer, and hopefully get better...AND it looks good..., too me anyhow..

15s look too small on GE8s IMO.

15X7 RPF1's or Rota Slipstreams are in my future as well mostly due to weight. The RPF1's come in at 9.5lbs. The Slipstreams at roughly 12lbs. The lighter the weight the better the handling, braking and acceleration. I have +45 offset 15" Civic rims on the car right now for my winter wheels and will likely stick with +42 to +45 rims for my summers.

I run 15X7 +35 RPF1's on my race car due to weight and I love them....

Believe me, I would have loved to keep my 15x6.5 SSR 8lb wheels I had on my 07 Fit. But I know I would have hated how the 38 offset would have stuck out on my 09.

I was actually thinking of going to 15's on the Sport... Don't the base Fits come with 15's?

I noticed in your other thread you mentioned some minimal rubbing. Where's it happening and under what driving conditions? Do you think you would still have the rub if you weren't on the Skunk2s?

We have tried 15" wheels on the 09; they do perform better with 205/50x15 and lightweight Falken 15x7/42 wheels. I suspect 205/45x16's on lightweight 16x7's will perform just as well.
