There are a handful of threads on wheels and tires...have you tried this one? There seems to be a lot of useful info there:

Some of it is very useful, but most of it is well gossip. Ive read that post 4 times already, and every time I get more confused...alot of hear say...nothing proven...and when people site examples, they dont list any mods that will effect fitment like lowering, ET of wheels...Im not a scientist or anything but I did pay attention in class, and all factors do have to be taken into account...sorry but the original authur of the thread said this and that can't be done while people do them every other thread...if that is not internet inccuracy at its best Im not sure what is...
