anyone else hear this noise?
in my auto fit sport, upon first start of the day only, i put the car in reverse, back out of my parking space, stop and then put the car in drive. at the moment of putting the car into drive, there's a semi-significant thud-like sound that comes from under the rear, center the car.
anyone else hear this?
any reason to be even remotely concerned?
it only happens on first trip of the day.

It occurs when I shift my A/T into drive.
¿Disabled auto door lock feature?
Do the Sport models "auto lock"?

it's definitely not coming from the doors.
it's underneath the car, behind the driver, near the center.

Just wanted to let you know that I do pay attention to the words, my friend.
What I hear seems to come from the area of the door panels.

If you guys see how much the 09 Fit Engine moves you would sH!T your pants.. it might be engine mount related or exhaust ... or Gas in the Tank..??? But anyways I`m going to see if there is anyone that is going to make a damper/ stiffer mounts for this car.. becuase the GE8 Needs it for sure...

First start, cold engine, your RPM could be up.
That could cause a thud when changing gears R to D
Now couple that with what JDM_Sohc_Sir said about engine movement and you got something normal and nothing to worry about
Plus you might have the option of backing into your space!?!?
Your location is USA, cold climate or warm?

Yep, on autos, it's the tranny clicking into gear R-D & D-R only. The new civic is the same.
I know it's hard to do, but try to forget about it unless it gets very loud then take it to the dealer.

ok.. I got something similar but more dramatic. From park on a downhill slope only. Parked on an uphill slope doesnt do it. Anyway, put it in gear.. roll 5 feet in gear loud clunk noise from the tranny. Coast no noise till I put it in gear...then 5 feet.. knunk! I mean loud! You can feel it in the shifter!
My guess... the parking pin gets stuck parked on a down hill slope and gets knocked back into place once in gear. Doesn't seem normal to me. But it has done it since new. 8k on it now.
I plan to question it whne I get back to the dealership. In the mean time.. any ideas?
