carpet floor mats issue

my carpet floor mats dont look like they fit at all. is it possible they sent me the mats for the 1st gen, or did honda do this poor of a job fitting these mats to the floorboard??

My driver mat also gets in the way of the dead pedal. this bothers me very much.

anyone else notice this?

my all weather mats have a anchoring system that you have to install...you may want to to look at the configuration of each mat, as the larger ones go in the rear and the smaller ones go in front(in case you might have made this mistake...)

Check the FIT logo on the mats. If it's all caps then it's 2nd generation 09 (GE8), if its spelled Fit its 1st generation 07-08 (GD3).

2nd generation 09 (GE8)

1st generation 07-08 (GD3)

FitStir, You are an amazing source of useful trivia. My 09 carpet floor mats with CAPS fit perfect.

I got sent the wrong mats for my 09. They sent me 07-08 mats that had the part number worn off.. Luckily the online dealer I dealt with was cool and air mailed the right ones and refunded my shipping when I returned the wrong ones.

Thank you, but it's really fitfreak.net. The fellow fit freaks really know their stuff, this was posted in a previous thread but I couldn't find it so I just posted up the pics from college hills for comparison.

I have the all season mats and I had the dealer install them. I noticed that my anchors are not attached to anything. There is a rectangle cut out of my base carpet, however if I lift the mats where the anchors are, the entire anchor system lifts up. Is anyone else having this issue? I think the dealer may have cut out too much of my carpet where the anchors should be attached? Any advice or pictures of what the anchors should look like when attached to the carpet without the mats installed on top of them would be appreciated.

They installed them wrong. I just installed mine literally 45 minutes ago. The instructions are pretty clear. I can email you a PDF of the instructions if you'd like to check their work.

There probably will be problems with the 09 mats.

The anchor system is simply a plastic doodad attached to cut carpet. It's not screwed anywhere. And, it has those twist to release the mats, which is not necessarily self-explanatory.

The earlier models had hooks and grommets. You can see the grommets in the images posted by FitStir. I'd looked up the part number for the hooks as well as viewed the pdf file of the install for those mats in another thread:
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/hond...tml#post536617

Looks like the first ones snapped into the frame. The second ones were screwed into the frame. And the ones for 2009 are just attached to the cut carpet. CHEAP

So, who will be the first to have torn carpet???

I did not want to hijack this thread with what happened to my dealer installed mats so I started a new one. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts.
