Add speakers to rear doors

My Fit 09 is the DX-A, so only has the front 2 speakers. I'd like to add speakers to the rear door.

Couple questions:

1) how do you get the door panel off to access the speaker mounting?
2) Is the wiring likeely to be present in the rear doors?

Thanks!

Check out the following thread for rear door removal:

I cannot help you on the 2nd question. I have a sports. But most likely they will have it all wired already. There is only one way to find out. Good luck.

BTW, I just ordered 4 speakers from Crutchfield. I will do the sound deadening on the doors at the same time replacing the speakers.

why not just run a sub in the boot?
you cant really hear the rear door speakers all that well anyway.

I have an '09 DX with only 2 speakers. Sub is part of the plan, but want to upgrade to 6 speakers first. Got the car 3 weeks ago, so I still need to plan things out for the rest.

i see... does the DX come with full range speakers up front or components? that might be the first thing to change + add sub.

and get the rear speakers installed later if needed to fill any void. heck, you might
be able to use the front stock speakers in the rear doors for the time being(?)

The DX comes with 2 full range in the front, and that's it. Indeed, might transfer the front to the rear. Thanks for the tip!

If you are going to go to all of the effort, put replacements in the rear, and put the OEM's in the dumpster - they really are crap. The sound stage is in the front and a sub in a DX is all you really need to add if you replace the fronts. New rears will help fill things out, but a sub should be the first priority.
