Thanks! I didn't want to tug on the relay with pliers in case there was some kind of release I was missing. Got everything finished, and am extremely happy.

Use the links in my signature line. I just checked and they do work.

If they don't, please advise.

is there any way to wire the fog lights and/or parking lights to become drl's?

(i'm doing a hid projector retrofit and still want some type of drl)

if anyone cannot help me can you at least print out/scan the pages of drl & fog light schematics for the 09 fit sport?

The wiring for the DRL control is inside of the fuse/relay box. There are no wiring diagrams to speak of in the FSM. So if you were to do it without adding your own circuits, you would have to pull the fuse/relay box, crack it open, dig around with a multimeter, and cut existing wiring/circuit boards up.

so......goodluck with that

ok, but how about this....

when you put down the e brake the DRL's go on. (I always use it for parking) is there a way to use the ebrake wire as a "on/off source".. meaning fogs on when down and off when up---parked?

that sounds like a really good idea. and i'm definitely in the same boat...i want my fogs to act as DRLs as well. it's a shame i don't have sufficient knowledge about electrical engineering. i hope someone figures it out and will share some of that.

If you're confident enough about cutting up the oem harness for this, anything's possible. The wires for the front foglight relay are easily accessible for cutting/splicing. The ground side of the stock foglight switch is inside of the switch unit but the shared ground (between headlight, parking light, and foglight) is outside of the switch..

**Note the following is all theoretic, I have not tried it myself so, tread carefully**
So for only the foglight to be used as a parking lever drl (assuming the parking lever switch is a normally closed switch - meaning that parking brake switch grounds it's signal while parking brake is disengaged), it could be as easy as wiring the parking brake switch in series with your foglight switch GND OR directly to the foglight relay control GND (if you don't wish to retain the ability to turn off the fogs manually without enaging parking brakes).

Another way to do it if you want both foglight & parking lights to come on when parking brake lever is off is to cut the 'Shared GND' and wire that to a normally closed parking brake switch. Which would make your lights cut out when you engage your parking switch and automatically turn on (assuming you left the light switches in the on position) when you disengage the parking brake.

The first one sounds easier. And I'm sure it would be because I already did Roger's mod..... simple....

so theoretically i would need to find that parking brake wire and splice into it?

Um, both ways I described it would require you to sorta do the 2nd part (switch mod), because you'd have to cut into the switch wire (either external or internal)...Unless you mean directly wiring the foglight relay control to the parking brake (eliminating foglight switch control).

Actually, I just checked and the parking brake switch is a short when the parking brake is engaged... open when parking brake is released. Meaning for you to do it like option A, you would need to wire in a normally closed relay to flip the parking brake logic.

Thanks for this easy to do DYI. I thought I was coy by trying to see how I can hook this up to the ACC wire so I can leave the switch on but have them turn off when I take the key out. I hooked this to the power wire then unplugged it. The foglights don't power on anymore. The indicator on the dash doesn't light up. The fuse is not blown. I changed the fuse anyways just to be sure. Can anyone help me figure out how to get the fogs to light up again?

Hate to bump a old thread, but it seems Roger's link is dead now since Apple closed MobileMe. Can anyone conjure up a DIY again? Thanks

Sorry to bring an old thread back to life but i'm trying to do this mod and I cannot access the link provided. It takes me to icloud or something weird.

Does anyone have the DIY? It would be greatly appreciated! Thank you
