IIHS Crash Test Results for 2009 Fit

I heard about this today! I had to check the IIHS website to confirm, and the 2009 Fit did earn a Top Safety Pick Award. It is the first Subcompact car to earn this award!

Looks like the GE>GD in every area of rear crash protection. GE overall rating = Good (the highest rating) GD overall rating = Poor (the lowest rating).

Not dying from a rear end crash FTW.

Just remember: a poor rear rating doesn't mean you will die from a rear ending. Just means it doesn't protect taller drivers. At least that is partially what I gathered from the description of their ratings at IIHS.

You have a point to some extent (at least with the geometric and overall ratings) but if you look at the dynamic test where "test measurements are recorded on a dummy (BioRID) representing an average-size man." The GE still gets a Good while the GD gets a poor.
The key word being "average-size."
And yes, you will die in the GD3
