If you traded in an 07-08 Fit please help!
I am a little pissed at my dealer who I purchased 3 cars from. He has got an 09 stick sport which I wouldn't mind buying.
I stop in to have coffee with my sales guy about twice a month. Even last week he was saying I'd get 12,500 trade in.
Now all of a sudden it is $10,500-11000
What have you guys gotten in trade????????
BTW my 07sport is manual w 34K, not even the slightest door ding
I mean the highest resale of all cars is Honda, and Kelley Blue Book says Fit is the highest resale value Honda.
Thanks in advance

I got $14,500 for my '08 Orange Blaze Sport AT last month when I bought my '09 Sport. It had 17,400 miles, clean, dingless, dentless, etc.
You gotta look out for yourself these days.. business is business. You may want to see what other stealers could give ya.

within the last month I watched the value (trade-in) drop $2K. The effects of a new Fit that cant stay on the lot. I just traded mine today and got $12K for it with 27,000 miles. Great cond! It was hard to do

It sounds like you may be expecting too much from the dealer, for what you think the car is worth you may be better off selling it privately.
These days, you're lucky to get "fair condition" value from the dealer, even if the car is near mint.
I suggest you get a Carmax appraisal, and go from there. Sometimes Carmax can be surprisingly fair, at least it can serve as a reality check.
Good luck.

well was not really a wake-up call for me....but was for my now 'former dealer' who would only give me $11,000 for my 07 SSM Sport manual.
I emailed 5 dealers 3 said they would come fairly close to my $12.5 trade in.
Honda of Lisle (illinois) had a 09 SSM Sport Manual. Paid sticker got my $12.5K for my trade. Goodbye Rosen Honda for the lowball trade (wtf I bought 3 new Honda's from them).
On the other hand Honda of Lisle is great not only in fair trade prices but the sales guy Tim Render and sales manager Mark are class guys all the way!
Lesson learned....
email at least 5 dealers before you buy.
Thank you some rep power for the guys who helped, !!!!!!!!

well , i traded my 08 fit sport orange in for 15,8xx it only had like 10,000 miles and was in perfect condition. 15,8 is a little higher than most people posted but i do know a manager at the dealership so i think i got more than most would get. they are (were, it sold in like a week) selling it used for 16,8xx.

All I expected in my case was fair and reasonable from my former dealer.
The fact that 3 other dealers (who didnt know me from Adam) met my expectations right away tells me that Rosen was out to steal my trade in.
