Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror

Update to GENX21A mirror install
Followed many of the ideas in this thread and install went smoothly. One thing I discovered was an easy access power source on the interior fuse box panel of my 2007 Base Fit. There are 3 flat blade male connectors in this receptacle (see below) which I tested with my multi-meter and they are controlled by the ignition switch. I hooked it up using a insulated crimp-on 3/16 female quick disconnect connected to a flat blade fuse holder which I put a 7/16th insulated crimp-on female quick disconnect. The 3/16th slips over one of the 3 flat blades mentioned earlier on the fuse box end and the 7/16th mates to the male quick connect that comes with the wiring harness on the other end.
To find the receptacle look at the interior fuse box schematic on page 224 of the 2007 Owner's Manual. It is black and is in the 3rd row up from the bottom of schematic and 3rd box over from the right. Directly above fuse #'s 8,9,10, and 11. With my Base model nothing was using this space and as I mentioned it is hooked to the ignition circuit. Didn't have to splice or tap into the purple wire as others have done.

And for those with the temperature sensor...
There is an easy place to feed through without drilling or breaking anything. I used a piece of music wire (about 1/16" dia) with the wires taped to it to feed through from engine to passenger compartment.
Looking straight in with the passenger side on the left, you will see a rubber gland that has wire bundle in it on the firewall - Just slip new set of wires alongside it!
Sorry, can't seem to post a picture here without hosting it somewhere else.
So my power runs down the drivers side pillar, the temp sensor down the passenger side.

I got an autodim mirror with homelink from Toyota Prius and followed the DIY posted in the forum. The Prius mirror is a direct plug and play fitment on the Fit bracket. I picked one up from a salvage yard for $40 with the pigtail. Has 3 wires, one for ground, one for constant positive and one ignition positive. Very simple and easy.
