Gone
This past Saturday (10-25-08) I traded my FitSport for an Milano Red Manual FitSport. I hadn't even gotten the chance to take any pictures of it to update my profile, when Tuesday afternoon (10-28-08), a lady blew through a red light into the side of my barely 4 day old car. The lady was uninsured and had no drivers license. I am not sure if my insurance is going to total it, but it looked pretty rough and the passenger curtains deployed. We'll see.

Sorry to hear about you're loss. It sucks I know
You're probably better off with it totaled. If the airbags went off there is that smell, and it may be the frame is damaged. Mine was totaled for that reason, It couldn't be fixed.
That also sucks about the driver not having insurance All of us that carry insurance have to pay higher premiums because of it
Did she go to jail?

They go to hell where they have a special place reserved for them.

Not true at all. A deployed air bag (in and of itself) is no reason to total a car. Airbags sometimes deploy in low speed/ low damage crashes. Should those cars be totaled?
Cars are totaled for one of two reasons: (1) repair cost exceeds replacement value, or (2) the chassis is unrepairable.

Yea your right, but usually if the accident is hard enough to set the air bags off, especially the side air bags, there is a greater chance that the damage is pretty severe and with the additional cost of the airbag the cost to repair would be pretty high, but then again it depends on the cost of your car also .

I got it on Sat Oct 25. Tuesday Oct28 an uninsured, unlicensed driver creamed me at a stoplight. She ran right through it. My insurance is on the fence with this. What do you think?

that is a huge bummer. other people are so attracted to this new chassis being in american that they just stare and forget to brake because they want the close up view. maybe the dealer will loan you your own car back for the time being.
gl with getting anything out of someone with no insurance or license. they probably dont have those because..... no money.

Willing to bet that is not a total unless there is damage on other sides. Good luck in in getting it fixed right!

judging by how new this car is since its not even 09 yet, im guessing that all the parts would have to come from the dealer. then there is the problem of frame being bent judging from where she hit you. i hope all works out.

This whole thing has completely sickened me. At least i got out of the city tow yard and to a Honda body shop where it is at least somewhat safe. That is an ordeal in itself. My claim person said yesterday that they are on the fence with totalling it and that it will be determined when the body shop tears it down.
